“What exactly are you trying to say?”

Jenna frowned. “Joseph, I know I apologized to you, but I still need you to tell me clearly what you mean.”

“Weren’t you offering to pass on a message? When she wakes up, tell her that she and her whole damn family can. go to hell! And mince your words!” Joseph exclaimed before walking away.

Jenna followed him into the elevator. Once they were inside, she locked it so no other medical staff could enter then asked, “What do you want me to help you with?”

“You know what I want?”

“No, no. I’m not going to guess. Just tell me directly.”

“What I need is biological material from all the adult men of the Zahn family. I’m going to use them for paternity tests. I’ve already been working on this, but I haven’t been able to get samples from the core members of the Zahn family.”

“You still think the children’s biological father is from the Zahn family?”

“Who else do you think could make Cora do something this shameless? Is there anyone else in Jenton with that kind of power?”

“Maybe it’s someone outside of Jenton.”

“That’s just a maybe. So it makes perfect sense for me to rule out the Zahn family first.”

Jenna fell silent.

“You can’t even agree to that? I just want to know who that bastard is. And for you, it’d be a piece of cake.”

Joseph was certain that the Zahn medical sect had complete health records on every member of the family regardless of their age. They probably had blood samples as well.

That was how they monitored the blood quality of the younger generation, ready to pump it into their old patriarch the moment they found a good match.

“If I do this, it will be considered a betrayal of the Zahn family. If they find out, I’ll be dead meat! You’re going to have to offer me a lot more than that,” Jenna said.

“You’re pushing your luck!”

Joseph didn’t accept the deal. At the moment, he couldn’t give Jenna what she wanted in return, and she would only take advantage of that to demand even more.

In a deal like this, he would be the one at a disadvantage. If he could make a deal with Jenna, ruling out the Zahn family would go a lot faster.

But since Jenna didn’t have the guts, then he wasn’t going to rush it. He didn’t waste any more breath on her and left the hospital.

After Jenna returned to her office, she carefully reviewed Wallace’s examination report. She replayed Joseph’s actions in her head, trying to figure out how he could be so sure about the bleeding spot.

Not long afterward, Cora knocked and entered. She immediately asked, “Why did my husband leave?”

“He’s literally your husband. Was I supposed to force him to stay?” Jenna complained, seemingly displeased.

Alas, Cora was still the richest person in Jenton, and that status alone gave her enough influence to intimidate others.

On top of that, the core members of the Zahn family had given strict orders to do everything in their power to save Cora’s daughters.

Cora asked, “What did he say to you?”

“Why don’t you just ask him yourself?”

“I want you to tell me exactly what he said, word for word!” Cora demanded, her tone aggressive.

“It’s nothing, really. He wanted me to help him find out who your daughters’ biological father was. I told him I couldn’t help and didn’t have the authority to get involved.
