Jenson asked, “Now that you know his condition and symptoms, is there a way to treat him?”

“Yes and no. That woman was the one who administered the poison. She didn’t just use her body, but his feelings too. Mr. Robinson, you probably can’t leave her anymore, right?”

“That’s nonsense! She’d never hurt me!” As expected, Terry’s demeanor shifted immediately, and he refused to let Joseph treat him anymore.

Jenson found himself in an awkward position. He calmed Terry down before seeing Joseph out and getting into his car.

“Joseph, tell me more about this love poison. What exactly is it all about? Why is it called Velvetbane?”

Joseph countered. “Think about it carefully. Did Mr. Robinson start seeing someone new three months before his symptoms began?”

“Mr. Robinson married his current wife five years ago. After they got married, they’ve been inseparable, and they’re deeply in love.

“Mrs. Robinson is an amazing woman. If you met her, you’d think she’s perfect for my mentor.”

“That explains everything. A love poison is exactly that. It’s administered through love, and once the victim falls in love, their emotions take over.

“It’s like drinking poison to quench their thirst. The only way to cure it is to sever all emotional ties.
