Chapter 442
“Come to the hospital when you have time. I’ll conduct a full examination and check the condition of your bones and blood vessels. Only then can I give you a proper diagnosis,” said Jenna.
“Could it be a long-term effect from having my blood drawn when I was a child?” Yara asked.
“I can’t rule it out, but I don’t think it’s very likely. You’re probably just exhausted. You should take some time off and rest,” answered Jenna.
“I can’t rest. Joseph has caused trouble. I’ve been running around putting out fires ever since he started digging holes for me,” responded Yara through gritted teeth. At the thought of Joseph, she had the urge to kill him. “Joseph? He has that much influence? What did he do?” Jenna was surprised. She couldn’t help thinking that the conflict between Joseph and Yara was far more complicated than she had realized.
Yara sneered. “While Joseph was treating Yelena’s and Peyton’s families, he had them go after my company. They wrecked my laboratories and warehouses. And it gets worse. He rammed one of my blood transport vehicles and called the police. Now, the police are watching the base.
“Aside from that, the two children who disappeared from the transport vehicle ended up in his hands. He reported that too. If he hadn’t, no one would have ever found out what we were doing.”
Jenna asked, “So, are you planning to arrange a car accident and kill him?”
“No, he’s connected to too many people now. I can’t get rid of him that way anymore. Mr. Zahn Senior is busy dealing with the Croma faction, so he doesn’t have the attention to spare for Joseph right now. Let Joseph live for a few more days,” said Yara.
Upon hearing that, Jenna breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Yara wasn’t planning to use outright criminal methods against Joseph, he would be safe for now.
“Was Joseph lucky or unlucky?” Jenna wondered. She couldn’t ask any more questions. As a doctor of the Zahn medical sect, she wasn’t allowed to involve herself in the family’s power struggles. She had to remain neutral.
After leaving Yara’s place, Jenna called for Joseph. Then, the two rode a shuttle cart back down the mountain. Once they got into the car, Joseph asked, “Why didn’t you visit the other houses? Could you not bear to let me meet Owen?”
