Paula hoped that Joseph and Belinda would end up together. After all these years, Joseph had treated Belinda better than anyone else ever had. Joseph was far better than Barry.

“He already rejected me. Do you think he’ll accept me after he gets divorced? What are the odds of that? He already knows everything I’ve done. Once he’s free, Peyton will probably have a better chance with him than ever will,”

mumbled Belinda.

“Feelings aren’t something you can force. Don’t act on your own and turn something good into something bad. Besides, I think secretly working with Cora is already pushing against Joseph’s bottom line. You should rethink that,” said Paula.

Belinda replied, “You don’t understand our family. It has been an empty shell for years. The money inside was siphoned off long ago. The reason I’m working with Cora is to make enough money to silence the people in the family. If there’s no money, they’ll defect to someone else’s side.”

Paula was taken aback. “Is it really that bad?”

Belinda responded, “You don’t know how expensive it is to run a household until you’re the one in charge. So, I have to win Joseph over. It isn’t for the family nor anyone else. It’s for myself.”

Paula was surprised. “That doesn’t sound like you. Is he really worth giving yourself to?”

“Barry injected me with something. It leaves me constantly craving a man. Joseph is exactly the kind of man my body responds to,” answered Belinda.

Paula didn’t know what to say after hearing that. She couldn’t deny one thing, though. Anyone who had seen the scandalous hospital pictures and videos of Joseph couldn’t help but be astonished by his masculinity. As a woman, she didn’t find it hard to understand why someone might want him.

After dropping Paula off, Belinda went to find Cora. Belinda arrived at Cora’s villa. Seeing that Cora had no intention of getting into the car, Belinda asked, “What are you doing cooped up at home? Let’s go out and have some fun.”

Cora responded, “You never show up without a reason. If you have something to say, just say it.”

In the past, Cora would have accepted such invitations right away. Back then, Joseph was at home, taking care of everything, and he trusted her. Now, he wasn’t home, and she needed to take care of her three children. She couldn’t go out whenever she wanted anymore.

Belinda tried inviting Cora again, but Cora still refused. Belinda was displeased. “You and your husband truly are alike.”

“Did you go to see my husband? How is he doing?” Cora asked.

Cora studied Belinda’s expression, and she noticed something she hadn’t expected. There was jealousy. Belinda was jealous of her.

A thought flashed through Cora’s mind. If she could drive a wedge between Belinda and Joseph, he would lose one of his allies. Sooner or later, he would have to come home.

Meanwhile, Belinda had come with her own agenda. She wanted Joseph and Cora to divorce as soon as possible.

She replied, “That’s right. I just came from his clinic. He seemed depressed. I wanted to invite him out for a drink so that he could get drunk and forget his troubles before bringing him back here.”

Cora deliberately encouraged Belinda. She knew very well that Joseph hated drinking. It wasn’t that he couldn’ outdrink her. It was just that he got drunk easily.
