Cora definitely remembered that part of what Joseph said. So why hadn’t Cora done what he asked and

Joseph found Cora unbearably hypocritical. He had already identified the biological father of her daughters, yet she still refused to admit to cheating or agree to a divorce. What kind of nonsense was

He was sitting right in front of her, and she still couldn’t recognize him. How was she supposed to find

Joseph slowly rotated his cup.

Jenna took out her phone and opened the medical forum. “Normally, I’d call him. But if I can’t reach him, I leave him a message here. If he sees it, he’ll reply or contact me. But he hasn’t reached out to me these past few days. I suspect he’s gone off to join some monastery and doesn’t even go online anymore.”

Cora asked, “Other than this forum, is there any other way to contact him?”

She had long since arranged for people to monitor Joseph’s account activity on the forum.

Jenna shrugged. “No. By the way, why are you all so desperate to find him? He’s already set his mind on joining a monastery and given up on his family life. Just let him do what he wants. He abandoned a life of wealth and comfort only to go suffer somewhere else, so let him have his way.

“Cora, from what I’ve heard, do you really think he’s still willing to remain in Jenton?”

Out of the corner of her eye, Jenna glanced at Joseph and wondered if she could knock some sense into him. He should have severed all ties with Cora long ago.

Yet Joseph remained completely unfazed, showing no reaction whatsoever.

Cora’s brows knitted together. “You don’t understand. There are some misunderstandings involved. I need to find him and explain everything clearly.”

Her relationship with Joseph had been put in an impossible situation.

Peyton said, “I’m looking for him as well. I need him to help me save my people.”

Jenna sighed. “We’re looking for him, too. We need him to treat Yara.”

Unable to provide any further information, Jenna made it clear that she wanted Cora and Peyton to leave them alone.

Only then did Cora take a proper look at Joseph. She remembered seeing him several times in Jenna’s office at the Traditional Medicine Center and finally realized they were a couple.

Still, she thought that Jenna had to be blind to choose such an ugly man.

Joseph deliberately avoided making eye contact with Cora and pretended to focus on his drink.

Watching the two women enter another private dining room, Jenna returned to her seat and said to Joseph, “Did you hear that? So many people are looking for you. I don’t think you can hide forever.”

Joseph replied, “I’m ugly and useless. Nobody pays attention to me. Of course, that’s assuming you don’t sell me out.”

With his injury, he could hardly perform any medical treatments now, making it even less likely that his identity would be exposed.

Jenna snorted. “If I were going to betray you, I would’ve done it just now. Honestly, it was quite satisfying seeing you standing right in front of them without anyone recognizing you.”

Joseph said, “As long as you never betray me, you’ll continue finding it satisfying.”

Just then, the waiter rang the bell and brought their food, bringing the conversation to a close. After finishing their meal, they headed back, only to run into Cora and Peyton again in the parking lot. The people you least wanted to meet were truly always the ones you ran into.

Back at the hospital, Joseph took advantage of the quiet afternoon to sneak off to his dormitory for a nap. It wasn’t until 4:00 pm that he returned.

Jenna summoned him to one of the hospital rooms. Lying unconscious in the bed was none other than the bodyguard he had incapacitated earlier. Joseph once again concluded that the man’s condition was caused by alcohol poisoning and offered nothing more. He had no intention of treating the man.
