A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 502

Chapter 502

“Oh, right. I didn’t think it through. Then don’t tell me anything. I’ll call your housekeepers over and let them keep you company.”

Joseph had thought that it would be easier to crush Yara and Skylar down if he could get her to share more of her past.

Yara remained silent, merely staring outside at the scenery and people passing by. She suddenly said, “Tell me. Do you think they’ll do this for me too when I die? Will anyone cry for me?”

Joseph did not say a word, but thought to himself. “If someone like you were to die of unnatural causes, you probably wouldn’t even be entitled to a Zahn family burial. You’d be cremated, reduced to ashes, and tucked away in a public columbarium.”

Yara asked, “Will you cry for me?”

“Pay me first. Then we can work something out.”

“You should help me find Joseph too. Once you find him, get him to cure me, and I’ll give you a fortune.

“You wouldn’t ever have to worry about money again. It’d be enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life.”

“That’s more than I can ever handle. I wouldn’t know what to do with all that money. You should ask someone

else.

“I’m not cut out for something like this. I only deal with small sums and trivial matters.” Joseph let out a chuckle.

If he actually agreed, she would probably have him eliminated. After all, as Henry Jebb, he was far too insignificant in Yara and the others’ eyes. He was just a nobody.

If a nobody only asked for 20,000 dollars, they could get away with it. After all, big shots wouldn’t stoop to arguing over pocket change.

Yara scoffed and turned to look at Joseph, thinking, “This freak has some self-awareness after all. No wonder Jenna used him as a cover!”

Yara continued, “Tell me. Can you find Joseph? If you can’t, do I really have to accept that my leg will be amputated?”

“I wouldn’t dare say for sure. Jenna said your family’s pretty capable, and they might even help turn things around for you.

“Besides, your family is powerful. Is there really anyone you can’t track down?”

“What if Joseph isn’t in Jenton anymore?”

“Oh? Why would he even leave? Jenna and the others said everything he has is in Jenton. His wife and kids are here. His whole life is here.

“He can run, but he can’t hide. Oh, wait. That’s not right! Jenna also told me that he’s raising your brother’s children.

“Joseph’s daughters are actually your brother’s. You guys are really something!”

“Jenna really told you a lot, didn’t she?”

“I get it. The less I know, the safer I am. But a few days ago, Jenna’s senior came back from abroad. “She refused to accept that Joseph was superior and wanted to hunt him down and have a showdown. If you know your enemy well, you’ll never lose.

“Of course, they talked a lot about him. The more I learned about him, the more impressed I was with your brother.

“He’s handsome, rich, and successful. And he’s surrounded by beautiful women too. He’s living the life every man

wants.

“Oh, right. Jenna said that even someone as beautiful as Gemma is with your brother!”

“You want to live like my brother too?”

“I wouldn’t dare dream of it. I know my own limits!”

“Well, at least you’re self-aware!”

“Oh! By the way, I don’t know if I should bring this up.’

“Go on.”

“Someone may have cheated on your brother. He’s been made a fool of.”
