Chapter 512
Things couldn’t have worked out better. No one would suspect Joseph, and that meant he was safe.
The longer he remained as Henry Jebb, the longer he could stay hidden.
As long as Joseph didn’t show up, they would only grow more desperate when they needed him. Otherwise, they could only hope they had the luck to make it out alive.
Once the designated driver arrived, he drove Joseph, Jenna, and Gemma back to Jenna’s house. After helping them upstairs, Joseph was completely worn out and decided to stay the night.
Initially, he had placed both women on their beds while he took the couch. But when he woke up the next morning, he found himself lying on the carpet, with Jenna and Gemma on either side of him.
Both women had rested their heads on his arms, leaving him unable to move. He had somehow ended up wedged
between both of them.
Joseph had woken up primarily because he needed to pee, and he was at a point where he couldn’t hold it in much longer. Not wanting to suffer an embarrassing accident, he had no choice but to get up.
When he pushed Gemma and Jenna aside to free himself, it woke them up. They were shocked to find themselves lying next to him, but seeing that they were still fully clothed and that there was no sign of anything inappropriate, they didn’t dwell on it too much.
After using the bathroom, Joseph walked back out and saw them eyeing him suspiciously. He defended himself, saying, “Both of you got completely wasted toward the end. You couldn’t even stand up, so I had to carry you two upstairs. I distinctly remember putting you on the beds before I took the couch. How did you two end up downstairs?”
“Not another word about this!” Gemma hurried upstairs to check the rooms, Finding signs that they had indeed been tossed onto the beds earlier, she realized Joseph was telling the truth. She shot him a warning glare before heading off to wash up.
Jenna, however, pulled him aside and asked in a low voice, “Did you tamper with our drinks? I don’t think I drank that much.”
Jenna remained suspicious. If his intention was to get them wasted, it didn’t add up if he hadn’t tried to take advantage of the situation.
“I’ve always said I’m no saint, but don’t take me for some kind of monster. If I really wanted to ruin you, I would’ve done it long ago. I could’ve done whatever I wanted, and you two would’ve had to suffer in silence,” Joseph retorted flatly.
Cora was already trouble enough; dealing with these two women was a headache he didn’t need. Life wasn’t easy for him right now.
Realizing nothing had actually happened, Jenna decided to let the matter drop.
Once they were all ready, they headed back to the hospital.
The first thing Joseph did upon arriving was head to his dorm to shower and change. Looking in the mirror, he saw that the spots where he had been kicked were turning a deep, ugly purple. Fortunately, there were no internal injuries-only superficial bruises.
Cora was truly a vicious woman!

Joseph still vividly remembered what the man and woman looked like. Sure enough, after digging through information on Cora’s subordinates, he easily identified both of them.
Since they were her loyal attack dogs, Joseph decided to take them down first.
He quietly had some contacts track their movements. It didn’t take long to find Cora’s two subordinates working at the new Lowell Group building.
Seizing the right moment, Joseph successfully ambushed both of them, knocking them out with precise
anesthetic injections. After administering a subtle treatment to ensure they wouldn’t bounce back anytime soon, he slipped away without a trace.
By the time the man and the woman were discovered, they were completely unresponsive. Even though thorough medical checks showed no physical trauma, they simply refused to wake up.
When Cora received the news, her first instinct was that someone was targeting her, prompting her to order her security team onto high alert.
By the afternoon, seeing that no further incidents had occurred, Cora began to calm down. Reviewing the situation logically, she figured the only people her subordinates had recently offended were tied to the nightclub incident- specifically, the pathetic boyfriend Jenna had brought along, whom one of them had beaten up in the underground parking lot.
Could it be someone from the Zahn medical sect?
