Yelena said, “Then go find him. But I’d advise you to divorce Joseph first. Compensate him and apologize to him. Show him the respect he deserves, and only then will he respect you.”
Yelena stood up and fixed her gaze on Belinda. “You’d better watch out. Your downfall is coming.”
Belinda’s expression darkened with fury. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Yelena ignored her completely. Belinda was the least significant person at the table, after all. Instead, she turned to Cora. “Tell me, does Joseph matter more to you, or the Lowell family?”
“The Lowell family.” Cora frowned. Joseph had asked her the very same question before.
Yelena nodded. “Exactly. You want to find Joseph because you need him to work for you and help the Lowell family climb higher. You’ve never truly treated him as your husband. Hell, you’ve never even acted like you were his wife. Everything you’ve ever done has been for the Lowell family’s little empire.”
She paused for a moment before she continued, “Think about it. After all these years, what have you actually given Joseph? Stop treating him like he’s a fool.”
Shaking her head, Yelena bid the women farewell and walked out.
Instead of getting the answers she wanted, Cora found herself weighed down by Yelena’s questions.
What had she given Joseph?
It felt like she had given him everything. She became his wife, built a family with him, and gave him a comfortable life and financial security.
Yet somehow, it also felt like she’d given him nothing. The house deed bore only her name. The cars were registered either in her name or in the company’s. He didn’t even hold a proper position in her business. Everything she owned had always remained hers.
Worst of all, after the DNA tests, all three daughters turned out not to be Joseph’s children.
The girls belonged only to her.
Joseph had nothing.
She shook her head. “No. I gave him my love. I gave him all the love I had. Wasn’t that enough? What more could he possibly want?
“And then he secretly burned down my tower, causing me enormous losses. After committing something like that, he goes into hiding? He dares to do it but doesn’t dare face the consequences? What kind of man is that?
“Joseph, if you’re really a man, come out and explain yourself to me.”
When Joseph woke, his head throbbed.
He stepped outside for a glass of water and asked the younger sister, “What kind of liquor did you two give me? Don’t tell me it was counterfeit.”
He examined the bottle and realized it was one of those cheap refilled bottles made from industrial alcohol.
The blind sister frowned. “I bought it. What’s wrong? Is it fake?”
It was just as he thought. There truly were scumbag merchants out there, shameless enough to cheat even a blind

Joseph said, “It’s nothing. I’ve just been under the weather these past couple of days and drank more than I should have.”
He changed the subject. “So did you find the miracle doctor you were looking for?”
The younger sister was busy chatting on her phone and didn’t even look up.
The blind woman answered instead. “We asked around about Dr. Hart. We learned he successfully separated conjoined twins and performed several other incredible surgeries. I’m sure he’s the miracle doctor we’ve been searching for.”
She sighed. “Unfortunately, he doesn’t work at Jenton University Hospital anymore. We also went to his clinic, but it had already been transferred to someone else. His phone number doesn’t work either.”
She turned toward Joseph. “You’re a doctor. Do you know anything about him?”
