Jenna had to admit that Joseph’s medical skills were extraordinary Her own specialty leaned more toward traditional medicine, and she wasn’t particularly skilled in modern surgical procedures.

Of course, that wasn’t because she lacked talent. In fact, her hand-eye coordination was exceptional. At her age, the real gap between her and someone like Joseph simply come down to clinical experience.

She asked, “Why did you suddenly reveal yourself?”

Joseph replied. “Otherwise, people might start thinking I’m dead. This is safer for both of us.”

Jenna tilted her head slightly. “That’s true. Now, everyone’s attention should be focused on you and Jenton University Hospital again.”

As Jenna spoke, Joseph signaled to her that Gemma was approaching. She couldn’t help but marvel at Joseph’s hearing. How could he possibly hear someone coming from that far away?

Sure enough, Gemma pushed open the door and entered. She took out her phone and showed them a photograph that Katie and a few others had shared. It was a group photo they had taken with Joseph.

“Joseph hasn’t left Jenton,” she announced. “He’s at Jenton University Hospital. I have to find him.”

Joseph clicked his tongue. “So it really is him. Tell me, we’re both men, so why is he so much more handsome than I am? Comparison really is the thief of joy.”

Jenna nearly burst out laughing. Joseph was just singing his own praises at this point.

She played along. “Exactly. How did you end up so ugly? You look like the aftermath of a traffic accident. Stop embarrassing yourself and go see Yara. She just sent someone for you.”

Joseph left and headed to Yara’s ward. He could immediately tell she was in a foul mood again. The aftermath of her tantrum was scattered all over the floor.

Joseph walked over and began picking up the ruined fruit. “Getting angry is bad for your health, Yara,” he said softly. “I looked over your test results. Honestly, you’re doing better every day. You need to have a little more confidence in yourself.”

Yara was still too furious to speak.

Joseph started to massage her legs. He had secretly learned some techniques from Beatrice. Combined with his own medical expertise, he effortlessly located the correct pressure points along her inner thighs. The stimulation produced a tingling sensation that finally brought Yara a measure of relief.

She sighed. “Did you know Joseph showed up at Jenton University Hospital last night? He even performed surgery there all night without any of us knowing.”

“We were just talking about that,” Joseph replied. “Gemma was even muttering about finding him and asking him to treat Skylar. Do you think Joseph would really come back to treat him after everything that’s happened?”

“Joseph is trash, but his medical skills are extraordinary,” Yara said bitterly. “I want you to do something for me. Contact hig secretly and agree to whatever demands he makes. I’ll do anything, as long as he comes and treats me.”

She clearly despised Joseph, yet she had no choice but to rely on his expertise.

Joseph nodded. “You shouldn’t rush this, Yara. If we go looking for him so desperately, we’ll just hand him leverage over us. What if he makes an outrageous demand? We could suffer massive losses.”

Yara sneered. “It would be easy enough if all he wanted was money. I’m just worried he’ll ask for something else.”

Joseph nodded thoughtfully. “He probably will. You’re Skylar’s sister, after all, and you’re close to him. If Joseph asks about Skylar and his wife, what am I supposed to tell him?”

Yara frowned. “Tell him that once he cures my legs, I’ll tell him the entire truth.”

“But what if he says he wants to know first?” Joseph prèssed. “How should I answer him then?”

Yara was beginning to lose her patience. “Just find him.”
