“Get lost! You’re always fooling around!” Gemma playfully scolded Joseph before turning away and ignoring him.

But her words reminded Joseph of Fiona, so he pulled out his phone and sent her a message. When he tried to send a second one, however, he discovered she had already blocked him.

It seemed broke, ugly men really didn’t stand a chance.

Brushing it off, Joseph went to take care of a few errands. When he returned, he spotted Natalie standing in the corridor outside the glass doors, unable to get in. Thanks to the trouble she had caused previously, Jenna and Gemma had left strict instructions to keep her out.

Joseph mulled it over for a moment before walking toward her. He didn’t need to open the doors; he could easily talk to her through the gap between them.

“Hey, freak. Open the door. What are you waiting for?” Natalie demanded.

Joseph felt a spike of annoyance, but he simply smiled. “Even if I let you in, what are you going to do? Your father is in the ICU. Aside from the medical staff, no family members are allowed inside.”

*Just open the door. Stop worrying about everything else,” she snapped.

“You’re too young to understand how this works. If you force your way into the ICU, you’ll be arrested for causing a disturbance.”

oseph smoothly snapped a photo of Natalie and forwarded it to Cora, adding a quick message that Natalie was dead set on forcing her way into the ward to visit Skylar.

It wasn’t long before Natalie’s phone rang. Seeing her mother’s name flash on the screen, she had no choice but to answer. That was when she realized Joseph had snitched on her.

Grudgingly promising to head home soon, Natalie hung up and glared fiercely at Joseph. “You bastard! Just wait until I get my hands on you. I’ll make you regret this!”

‘Don’t get so worked up, Ms. Zahn,” Joseph replied coolly. “You can’t just barge in here. No one would dare let you inside- hey’d be crossing your mother.

‘Besides, everyone knows your mother is still legally married to Joseph Hart, so you aren’t exactly considered part of the Zahn !amily around here. No one is going to say it to your face, but they’ll judge you behind your back. They’ll keep their distance just to avoid the drama.

“If you really want to see Mr. Zahn, you’ll have to be smart about it.”

Natalie continued to glare at him. How dare this guy call her stupid!

Joseph leaned in slightly. “I can sneak you in, but not right now, and definitely not looking like that.”

“You?” Natalie eyed his surgical mask and lab coat, then glanced at the medical staff bustling around the ward.

An idea sparked in her mind. She could disguise herself as a nurse or a doctor.

“If you wear a disguise, I can get you through these doors,” Joseph said, reading her expression. “But don’t think it’s that simple. You still need the passcode for this area.

“Jenna and the others change it daily, and that’s where I come in. Without me, you aren’t getting that code.”

Natalie quickly composed herself. This ugly bastard was clearly going to be a pain to deal with. She hated the idea of working with him, but she had no other choice.

“What do you want?” she demanded.

“Money and women. Don’t get me wrong. I know my place. I wouldn’t dare go after someone like you in a million years. But I am interested in Fiona, your mother’s lawyer.”
