Chapter 572
Joseph really had some nerve
Yara desperately wanted to stop him, but she reconsidered. If she couldn’t be cured, she might as well experience what it was like to be desired as a woman. At least it would be one less regret.
The man before her was hideous-hunched over and sleazy-looking. He came from a lowly background and was completely
worthless.
In the past, Yara wouldn’t have given a man like him a second glance. Whenever she imagined the kind of man she wanted to fall in love with and marry, the one who always came to mind was Joseph.
Joseph was the perfect height-attractive, refined, kind, capable, and fiercely devoted to his family. He was also a brilliant doctor, attentive to her needs, and always looking out for her well-being. And, of course, he was incredibly obedient.
What a pity. A man like Joseph was already married to Cora.
Besides, Yara had a complicated history with him. If he saw her in this state now, not only would he be repulsed, but he’d probably just mock her.
Yara despised Joseph, especially after he had captured her and tormented her. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to kill him with her own two hands.
Yara reached out and grabbed Henry’s manhood, musing that this ugly man had at least one redeeming quality after all.
But the moment he tried to slip his hand under the sheets, she instinctively stopped him. “There’s a limit to everything,” she warned. “You’ve done more than enough to please me. Don’t push it, or I won’t be happy.”
“Got it. I just want to make you happy,” Joseph replied smoothly. He had to admit, now that they had grown this close, it didn’t take much to earn Yara’s trust.
Pleased that he knew when to back off, Yara said, “I don’t mind sharing some good news with you. The guy who took over my and Skylar’s business is in deep trouble. He did something that brought massive shame to our family.”
She let out a dark chuckle.
“Oh? Are you talking about Harold Zahn? He just took over your operations, and he’s already in trouble? What happened?”
“Harold actually went to Mr. Zahn Senior and asked for permission to marry Pamela Zahn. When Mr. Zahn Senior refused, Harold threw a massive tantrum.”
Having seen the Zahn family tree and reviewed the medical sect’s records, Joseph knew exactly who Pamela was. She was the old witch. Feigning ignorance, however, he asked, “Who’s Pamela Zahn?”
“Pamela is already in her 80s or 90s. She used to look after Mr. Zahn Senior and the other elders. And now Harold wants to marry her. Isn’t that absurd? How can an idiot like him take over Skylar’s and my businesses?”
Joseph was secretly taken aback as well. He had assumed Harold and Pamela would just sleep together and deal with the scandalous fallout later. He never imagined they would actually become infatuated enough to demand marriage. Still, that worked out perfectly in his favor.
Joseph let out a dramatic sigh. “Even a 90-year-old woman can find true love. Look at me-I probably don’t stand a chance in hell.”
Yara chuckled. “Are you looking for an 80-year-old sugar mama too? I can arrange that.”
“Forget it. I’m not worthy. Don’t try to set me up with anyone. Oh, right-since Harold is out of the picture, you need to track Joseph down quickly and get him to cure you. Once you’re discharged, you can take back everything that rightfully belongs to you.”

“Exactly,” Yara agreed, highly pleased with his attitude. He always had her best interests at heart. She caught herself wondering if she should just let him ship his hands beneath the sheets next time.
The moment he left the hospital room, Joseph contacted Cora. “Ms. Lowell, I have some excellent news for you. Harold Zahn got himself into serious trouble at Emerald Mountain. He’s about to be stripped of all his authority.”
“Are you serious?” Cora asked quickly.
“Go ahead and look into it. The truth won’t change, and if it’s a lie, you’ll find out soon enough.”
“Name your price.”
