But Joseph immediately recognized her. It was Natalie, and she was clearly there to sneak in and see Skylar.

Quickly snapping a photo of her, Joseph forwarded it to Cora. Recognizing her daughter instantly, Cora immediately ordered Joseph to intercept her and block the visit.

Joseph completely ignored Cora’s instructions, but it didn’t matter-other medical staff had already spotted Natalie. After unmasking her, they promptly escorted her out of the department.

“Are those Cora’s people? Looks like she does have a few tricks up her sleeve after all. She even planted eyes right here in the Traditional Medicine Center to keep tabs on everything. Well, that just makes things even better for me.”

Joseph made a mental note of their faces, carefully observing the reactions of the surrounding staff. There were likely spies from multiple factions planted here.

Not long after, Joseph’s phone buzzed with a text from Natalie, asking if he was currently at the hospital.

Joseph typed back, “What a silly question. I was standing right next to the head nurse when they escorted you out of the building. Didn’t you see me?”

“Why won’t you help me see my dad?” Natalie demanded.

Joseph replied, “He’s your dad, not mine. All I care about is money! I already told you- your mom has strict orders out, so nobody is letting you near him except for me.

“But now you’ve blown your cover. Your mom is going to keep an ever closer eye on you. It’ll be a miracle if you can sneak out of the house again, let alone make it back to this hospital. You refused to pay up, and now look at what happened.”

Natalie texted back, “Screw you! Don’t rub it in. Just tell me how you’d get me in if I paid you.”

“Do you think I’m stupid? If I told you now, you’d just follow my instructions and sneak in yourself. In the real world, it’s all about supply and demand. Nobody is going to pity you just because you play the victim.”
