Joseph went to look for Yara and found her still waiting outside Skylar’s ward. Inside, Skylar was dealing with a personal matter. Out of nowhere, Yara had an idea. She wanted Joseph to take her out of the hospital for a meat:

Joseph answered, “For example, we could find Joseph or another renowned doctor. We can go overseas and work with private research institutions. Technology is advancing every day. Maybe…”

Joseph noticed the change in Yara’s expression, so he stopped there. She clearly didn’t believe him. Her condition couldn’t afford to wait.

Yara fell silent. After a long while, she lifted her head and looked at Joseph. With a smile, she said, “I suddenly have an idea. Do you want to hear it?”

“You aren’t planning to make a move on me, are you?” Joseph asked. He concluded inwardly that it wasn’t the right moment to unsettle her, deciding against pushing her into working more closely with Cora to track him down.

“That’s right. I’m thinking about making a move on you. How about I send you overseas and get you a new face?” Yara asked.

Joseph was taken aback. A part of him found the idea troublesome, but another part was delighted. Yara, cornered by her circumstances, had actually developed feelings for him. Maybe if he were a bit better-looking, she would really give herself to

him.

If he told her that he was the Joseph she had been hunting for one day, what would she feel? She would probably lose her mind and die furious.

Joseph kept his expression calm as he replied, “Plastic surgery? If I change my face, would I still be the same man you know? Besides, if a guy becomes handsome, maybe he’ll become a playboy. Would you still like me then?”

Yara smiled. “If you ever cheat on me, I’ll castrate you.”

Her face was slightly flushed. She silently acknowledged the implication behind his words. She did like him. Even she found it strange. She didn’t know how she ended up falling for him. Was it because of his ugly face or because of what he was capable of?

Eventually, she came to understand the reason. At the darkest point of her life, his care, encouragement, and advice had been like a ray of light shining into her world.

Yara thought, “Once I get better, if you don’t behave, I’ll kick you to the curb. I’m only playing around with you for now, and you actually think I’m serious.”

The more Yara thought about it, the more she felt that Joseph still had value to her. As the saying went, two people could share
