Of course, Cora refused to give in. She had someone keep the lawyer occupied before asking Fiona to come over.

Seeing how worn out Fiona looked, she asked, “What’s up? Didn’t sleep well?”

“That bastard Henry kept texting me all night and even tried calling me. I couldn’t get a moment’s peace. I only managed to get some sleep around 5:00 am,” Fiona complained. It only made her angrier when she thought about how he had been working the night shift last night.

Cora scowled. Joseph kept causing trouble by pushing for a divorce, and he was harassing Fiona too. With her family feuding with the Zahns and the other prominent families, she was starting to feel overwhelmed.

Fiona went over Joseph’s proposal to freeze the assets and said, “Joseph is just testing his boundaries. We can ignore him for now and buy ourselves some time. The problem is, if he goes public with these demands, the public could turn against us, and the market could take a big hit.”

“Just look at this man. He’s not there when I need him, and now he’s stabbing me in the back too!” Cora complained, both frustrated and disappointed.
