After assigning a few tasks, Cora rushed to Jenton University Hospital.

Natalie was surprised that Cora hadn’t asked her to stay put in the office. She then slipped a sleeping pill into Fiona’s drink. Aside from Cora, Fiona was the only one here who could keep her in line.

Natalie pretended to ask Fiona for some advice before offering her the spiked drink. Once Fiona was fast asleep with her head on the table, Natalie slipped out of the office and went to find Joseph.

With Joseph’s help, Natalie managed to disguise herself as a nurse and follow him into the ICU. She finally got to meet Skylar, the man she wouldn’t stop talking about.

The problem was, Skylar was lying in a hospital bed in a coma. He couldn’t even talk to her, so she had gone all that way for nothing.

Before leaving the parking lot, Natalie complained, “Next time, I want to see my father when he can actually talk to me. I have something really important to tell him. If you let me down again, I won’t work with you anymore.”

Joseph shot back, “Do you really think I like working with you? The Lowells and the Zahns are at each other’s throats now. You’re Cora’s daughter too. If it weren’t for the money, do you think I’d put myself at such risk just to let you see Skylar?”

“I took a huge risk too, okay? I knocked Fiona out earlier. Once she wakes up, she’ll know something was wrong and tell my mom. Mom will definitely start suspecting me.”

“Ms. Zahn, the greater the risk, the greater the payoff! You need to look at the bigger picture. If you want more, you have to be willing to give more.”

There were several talented doctors at the Traditional Medicine Center, but they were often overlooked because they weren’t part of the Zahn medical sect. After taking charge, Joseph made a point to promote them whenever he could.

He didn’t win them over with money alone; he helped these overlooked doctors get promoted, providing them with better pay and benefits. It was a way to improve their prospects, which naturally earned him their loyalty.

Joseph realized Yara had to stay alive for now. Being her fiance could give his standing quite a boost.

Aside from the three injured bodyguards, several women were brought in, one after another, all poisoned with a strange toxin. In truth, Joseph was behind it.

These women were the very same housekeepers Joseph had fired back then. Of course, most of them had completely changed their appearance, looking like entirely different people. Even if Cora had been there, she might not have recognized them.
