After ending the call with Joseph, Cora fell into deep thought.

Fiona suddenly had an ominous feeling. A horrifying possibility crossed her mind. What if Cora was actually going to give up on her? What if Cora sent her to accompany that ugly bastard, Henry, and even make her bear his child?

Just as she was about to ask, her assistant sent her a message. More members of the Lowell family had come to cause trouble, once again fighting for control of the group.

Fiona lowered her voice. “Marlin’s men are storming the business division. A manager just had coffee poured over them. I’ve already told everyone not to fight back, but should I go over and handle it?”

Cora frowned. Trouble had been coming nonstop lately, and she was exhausted from dealing with it. She said, “Go ahead.”

After saying that, Cora grabbed her car keys and prepared to leave.

“Where are you going, Cora?” Fiona asked.

Cora said, “I’m going to see Katie and talk to her. I want her to persuade Joe to make an appearance. I need to have a proper conversation with him. In the end, Joe is the root cause of everything. Until I resolve the matter with him, I’ll never have the initiative.”

Fiona was surprised. “Are you really going to get divorced?”

Cora fell silent at that question. She simply told Fiona to keep an eye on the company before she left.

She drove to Katie’s clinic and was slightly surprised to see Paula there as well, though the surprise quickly faded. After all, Belinda had worked with Joseph to burn down her building. It was only natural that they would be close.

Cora immediately said, “Contact Joseph for me. I need to speak with him. Some things between us need to be settled properly.”

She sat down on a chair, completely composed. “If he refuses to come see me and won’t even call me, I’ll just stay here until he does.”

Katie and Paula exchanged glances. They both tried Joseph, but his phone was switched off. In the end, they could only leave him messages on the forum, hoping he would eventually respond.

Katie turned to Cora. “You should go home. If Joseph doesn’t want to contact you, then you could stay here forever, and he still wouldn’t come out to see you, let alone call you. You know better than anyone what you’ve done to him.”

Cora shot back, “What harm did I actually cause him? What did he lose? If he’s really so miserable, why is he hiding instead of coming to confront me face-to-face? He can always talk to the openly.”

Katie stared at her. “When he was right in front of you, did you actually talk to him? You just kept trying to pressure him with your resources and status. Then you would tell him that you still loved him and use your marriage to guilt him into staying. He’s just exhausted at this point. I beg you, just let him go.”

Katie opened a drawer and pulled out two copies of a divorce agreement. Joseph had left them behind with his signature already on both documents. All Cora needed to do was sign them, and the divorce would be finalized.
