Chapter 683
Joseph had already sent everyone involved in the operation away or made sure they disguised themselves before carrying out their missions. As long as no one was injured and they didn’t leave behind hair, blood, or other evidence, there was no way to trace anything back to them.
So, even though Cora had begun searching for Joseph with everything she had, she still couldn’t find him. To make matters worse for her, some of the Lowell family members were secretly feeding him information.
ว
When he saw her message, he could only sigh helplessly. It further convinced him that her success over the years had depended heavily on the men around her.
Now, any man who stepped forward to help Cora was just another one of her lovers. If they had enjoyed themselves while they were with her, Joseph would make sure they suffered just as much when he came after
them.
Joseph refused to treat anyone connected to Cora. So, Bruce and Charlie both became critically ill within just two days. They hadn’t died yet, but any experienced doctor could tell that they probably wouldn’t last much longer.
Meanwhile, Joseph rarely left the house. He spent most of his time accompanying Yara. Aside from occasionally manipulating her into doing things for him, he had gained another unexpected advantage-he had managed to win Beth over.
From then on, whenever Beth received information from outside, she reported it to Joseph as well. That was the payoff for helping her with her medical treatments three times.
Of course, Yara had no idea. She still believed Beth was completely loyal to her. That day, Joseph received an invitation from Cora to have a meal. He didn’t hide it from Yara.
Yara requested, “Don’t let her manipulate you. Don’t sleep with her. If you do, I won’t forgive you.” Joseph smiled. “You’re too cute. I’m not that kind of man. I’ll just have a meal with her and come right back.” Joseph tapped Yara on the nose gently before driving off. When he saw Cora again, he noticed that her beautiful face looked slightly more tired than before. The exhaustion only made her seem even more feminine.
As they ate, they chatted.
Cora asked, “Why aren’t you working at the Traditional Medicine Center?”
Joseph answered, “I mistook the platform for my own ability. I’m part of the medical sect, so I only have whatever the Zahn family is willing to give me. When the medical sect ordered me to surrender all my authority, I had no choice but to comply. Now, I’m back home taking care of Yara.”
Joseph assumed Cora already knew where he was staying and was just looking for a way to start a conversation. He brought up something that would hit a nerve. “I’m not at the hospital anymore, but I heard that Natalie went to see Skylar yesterday. You didn’t stop her. Why?”
Cora countered, “You knew about that?”
Joseph replied, “I had just left, but I hadn’t gone far. The tea was still warm after all.”
He chuckled before continuing, “I also heard about what happened at Jenton University Hospital. Your father’s condition has taken a turn for the worse. Are you still waiting for Dr. Hart to show up?”
Cora asked, “Based on what you’ve heard, do you think he’ll appear?”

Joseph responded, “Honestly, I’m searching for him too. I was hoping he would show up and treat Yara’s legs. Unfortunately, he didn’t show up. In a few more days, Yara will have to be hospitalized again. If you find Dr. Hart, remember to inform me.”
Cora nodded before asking, “What kind of information does the Zahn family have about Joe? Do they know anything about the people helping him?”
So, that was Cora’s motive. She wanted information about Joseph.

Joseph replied, “There are two groups from outside the state. First, there’s the Yeager family from the Croma faction, which Mavis is in,Second is the Cooper family. There are plenty of suspects within the state. Anyone he has treated could potentially be helping him.
