ACora’s home, Bernard was getting ready to head out when Cora asked, “Dad, where are you going this late at night?”

He replied that he was going to meet an old friend before heading out. What kind of old friend needed him to bring this many people? It wasn’t long before Cora received word that nearly all of his men had been mobilized. He was traveling with more than a dozen cars. It was quite an operation.

Cora didn’t find out where Bernard was headed until he had already entered the gates of Celestial Farm. She immediately frowned. She had no idea why he went there.

The fact that he had kept this from her and had even lied about it left her uneasy. Around midnight, she received another update. His men had left the farm, but somewhere along the way, they drove over tire spikes. Most of the cars ended up with punctured tires.

She immediately called him and pressed him for an explanation. Only then did he tell her about his phone call with Joseph and how the latter had lured him to Celestial Farm.

Cora instructed, “Dad, don’t make any moves. Don’t split up. If you do, Joe will pick you off one by one.”

Cora immediately gathered her people and headed over. She warned Bernard not to leave his men. If he became isolated on the road, Joseph could take advantage of the situation and abduct him.

Joseph would create a diversion in one place while striking somewhere else. The aim was to catch his targets off guard. Cora had figured him out.

Bernard had walked straight into an empty trap. It was only then that he realized that Joseph had deliberately sent him on a wild-goose chase. He was so furious that he could barely breathe, and the phlegm in his chest began acting up again.

When Bernard and Cora returned safely to the villa, Helen breathed a sigh of relief. Helen couldn’t help nagging Bernard about it. This time, she wasn’t entirely convinced that Joseph actually intended to hurt them.

Meanwhile, through his informants, Joseph learned what had happened to Bernard and the rest. He also knew that if he showed himself now, he would immediately be surrounded by Bernard’s people.

From the pictures his informants sent him, Joseph could see that Cora and her family were all gathered at the villa. An idea suddenly crossed his mind.

What if Joseph got Skylar out of the hospital and personally delivered Skylar to her doorstep? In that way, the whole family could finally have their reunion.

After thinking it over, Joseph abandoned the idea. Doing that would expose some of the arrangements he had made at the hospital. For now, he decided to stay out of sight.

The peaceful days passed one after another. Joseph stopped contacting anyone. He even ignored Cora’s complaints about him on the medical forum. He remained committed to staying safe and hidden.

One day, Yara went to the Traditional Medicine Center for a follow-up appointment. While she was there, she decided to visit Skylar. That was when she spotted Natalie. Shane held her by the wrist and refused to let her leave.

Judging by Natalie’s painful expression, Shane was gripping her hard enough to hurt her. Joseph was puzzled, but his first instinct was still to rush over and help her.

Natalie might not have been Joseph’s biological daughter, but after raising and protecting her for so many years, the bond between them had already been etched into his blood. He instinctively quickened his pace.

Upon seeing Joseph, Natalie looked as though she had spotted her savior. She yelled, “Henry, help me!”

Men Natalie noticed the shape of Joseph’s mouth and quickly corrected herself, addressing him as Uncle Henry. Joseph knew how capable Shane was. Even if he had ten men with him, they might not be able to take Shane down. He couldn’t win this by force. He would have to outsmart Shane.

Joseph asked, “Mr. Turner, what did Natalie do to upset you?”

Shane looked down on Joseph. He snapped, “This has nothing to do with you. Don’t stick your nose into other people’s business.”

Joseph asked, “Natalie, what did you do to provoke him? Where are your manners? Hurry up and apologize. Otherwise, he might squeeze hard enough to break your wrist.”
