“Is there really only 30 million dollars?” Shane asked, his eyes cold. He suddenly tightened his grip, making Natalie cry out in pain.

“50 million dollars. It’s all there,” said Joseph. He still couldn’t bear to see Natalie suffer, so he showed Shane the account balance, which displayed 50 million dollars.

Shane ordered, “Transfer it to me now!”

Shane finally released Natalie and ordered Joseph to make the transfer. Joseph played a little trick. He claimed that the transfer had to be handled at the bank.

While pretending to make an appointment with the bank, Joseph secretly sent a message to his people, ordering them to take out Shane.

Joseph also gave Beth a heads-up. To his surprise, he overheard Shane asking her to exchange contacts, saying something about wanting to rekindle their old relationship.

Just then, Joseph received another message. His informants were already waiting near the exit. He finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Joseph noticed that Shane had told the driver not to follow them and had decided to drive himself. It looked like he wanted to keep the money for himself. It couldn’t have worked out better.

At the exit, a car had broken down, and the hospital security guards were dealing with it. Joseph got out and went over to complain about the obstruction.

At the same time, Joseph gave the informant, disguised as a security guard, the signal to make his move. The informant immediately fired a tranquilizer dart at Shane.

Even with his impressive physical skills, Shane couldn’t avoid it. Joseph got Shane out of the area and drove around for a while. Eventually, Joseph gave Shane enough alcohol to make him appear heavily intoxicated.

Joseph even spilled some alcohol on Shane’s clothes before taking the latter back toward the hospital and handing him over to the driver.

The driver didn’t suspect anything and took Shane back. Halfway there, Joseph’s people intercepted them. Back at the hospital, Yara was taken in for an examination. Beth finally found a chance to explain her relationship with Shane to Joseph.

Beth told Joseph that Yara had ordered her to accompany Shane and that she hadn’t been in a position to refuse.

Joseph brushed the matter aside. Instead, he praised Beth for everything she had done and her loyalty. He told her that it only made him trust her more. By showing that he understood her situation and comforting her at the same time, he managed to move her deeply.

After Yara’s examination, the results weren’t particularly encouraging. She had to be hospitalized for treatment.

Yara sighed. “That’s bad. Mr. Turner isn’t someone you can fool that easily. Now that he knows about our money, there’s no way we’ll be able to keep it.”

“Yara, I was thinking…” Joseph trailed off, making a slashing gesture across his neck. If they wanted to keep the money, he was prepared to do whatever it took.

Yara stared at Joseph in shock. His sheer boldness sent a chill through her.
