Joseph returned to the department, but he couldn’t resist finding out what was happening with Natalie, Selena, and Kimberly in Skylar’s ward. He asked a doctor he trusted and learned that Skylar was still unconscious and hadn’t woken up.

Cora was keeping her daughters in there, putting on that touching act just to provoke Joseph. Joseph mumbled, They’re having their happy family reunion. I’m jealous, but I don’t need to rush out and retaliate against you right now. After all, Skylar is already suffering under my revenge.

“The happier you are now, the more painful it’ll be when I settle the score. Cora, you’ll pay for cheating on me and lying to me.”

Joseph calmed himself down. Soon, he saw Harry and several other representatives from the medical sect arrive They examined Shane and tried various methods to wake him, but nothing worked.

Of course, one variable remained. The people from the medical sect had to avoid doing anything stupid. If some genius decided to try an extreme treatment in a desperate attempt to save them, they might end up killing them for real.

Joseph paid for lunch for the entire department. When he learned that the three girls were still in Skylar’s ward, he also had some food sent up to them. He noticed they stayed in Skylar’s ward all afternoon. They didn’t leave until 8:00 pm that night.

“Cora, you’re really going all out to use the girls to lure me out. Unfortunately, I’m standing right in front of you, and you still can’t recognize me,” muttered Joseph.

Joseph stayed with Yara that night and didn’t go anywhere. The next day, he went down to the parking lot and ran into the girls again. They were getting out of their car, with Natalie leading the way as the three of them entered the elevator together and headed upstairs to Skylar’s ward.

Then, Joseph spotted Cora’s car parked a short distance away. She was sitting inside, watching everything unfold. After thinking it over, he walked over and knocked on the window

Cora first told the bodyguard sitting in the car to get out. Then, she allowed Joseph inside. Joseph asked, “Why aren’t you going upstairs?”

Cora didn’t answer. Instead, she asked, “Do you have any leads on my husband?”

Joseph answered, “Nothing yet. I’m looking for him too because of Yara. The Zahn family and the entire medical sect are searching for him as well.”

Cora no longer wanted to talk to Joseph and just told him to get out. He returned to the villa and showered before changing his clothes. Then, he headed back to the hospital.

Joseph didn’t create any unnecessary trouble by looking for Bernard and Helen. Since Cora was at the hospital, he took the opportunity to confront Bernard and Helen instead.

Joseph didn’t go looking for Katie or the others either. He just returned to the hospital to stay with Yara. Around noon, Harry came looking for Joseph after lunch. Harry took Joseph into Emerald Mountain and gave Joseph a choice. Joseph had to decide how to execute Kaya.

Kaya was in a terrible condition. She was barely hanging on, yet her entire body continued to convulse/ uncontrollably from the pain and injuries she had suffered. All three choices required Joseph to personally put an – end to her life.

Joseph sighed and chose the sedative. Kaya slipped into a deep coma, and her heart eventually stopped beating Afterward, Joseph still wasn’t allowed to meet Owen. Instead, they took him out of Emerald Mountain again and left him by the roadside. He had to call a cab to return to the hospital.

When Joseph returned to the ward, Yara asked him what had happened, so he told her everything.

Yara said, “The Zahn family and the medical sect are still testing your loyalty. They didn’t make things difficult for you, so you must have passed. Since you killed Kaya, you’ve also given them something they can hold over you. They probably won’t make things difficult for you again.”

Joseph replied, “I suspect there’s another test. They’ll eventually ask me to leave you.”

Yara immediately became nervous. She asked, “What will you choose?”
