A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 717

Chapter 717

Joseph left.

The next day, he deliberately didn’t bring up why he had fallen asleep last night. Sure enough, Yara didn’t mention his visit, and she was still willing to be intimate with him.

She let him touch her however he wanted and allowed herself to enjoy the moment as well. However, she no longer tried to go all the way with him.

Deep down, she would rather make a deal with Joseph, who wanted her to give herself to him and have his children. That way, she could get her hands on the antidote.

Whenever Joseph wanted more, she suggested having Beth come in and take her place, but he turned down her offer.

Joseph went off to the hospital. Not long after, he received word from his informants and Beth that Yara had left the villa to see Skylar’s two sets of twins at Sunnybrook Estates.

After that, Yara made her way to two other places, both belonging to Skylar’s mistresses and children. She gave them some money and reminded them not to go to the hospital and see him.

At noon, she also went to Jenton University and met separately with two of his other mistresses-a female professor and a woman with a doctorate.

Yara didn’t tell Joseph that she had gone out, let alone who she had met. She even told Beth to keep it from Joseph, but she never expected Beth to tell Joseph everything when he returned and treated her illness.

It was just as he had expected. Now that Yara thought she could make a full recovery, she was already acting like she was above everyone else.

Joseph didn’t take the initiative to check on Yara; he wanted to see what she would do.

That day, Cora invited him to dinner, and he told her about Skylar’s other children. He even showed her several photos of Skylar with them.

When he mentioned that Skylar had relied on IVF to have that many children, Cora said, “His sperm motility is low. That just proves my daughters aren’t his. But how am I supposed to convince my husband to accept that?”

“Dr. Hart is a way better doctor than I am. I can’t think of anything convincing enough to fool him.

“Ms. Lowell, you have to understand one thing. The only reason people get fooled is that, on some level, they’re willing to believe it.

“Dr. Hart chose to believe your lies because he wanted to. That also means he still loves you. So why bother with all the technicalities?”

Cora nodded and said, “My husband does love me. I don’t doubt that. But I still think there’s something we can do with Skylar’s bastards.”

“Like what? Are you going to kill them? Well, don’t ask me. I can’t bring myself to do it,” Joseph said.

Cora didn’t respond. She looked up at him and thought, “So I still couldn’t win you over. I just haven’t offered

you enough, right? Even a harmless man like Joseph could set my building on fire. You’re just a nobody. What wouldn’t you do?”

She asked, “Where did Skylar and his lovers have the IVF procedure? Was it just a one-off? Or do the Zahns always do things this way?”

“I haven’t found anything on that. I’ve got too many pointless tasks to deal with these days, and not enough time.
