Chapter 729
Joseph was hardly a saint himself at this point. If the Dixons were coming for him, then he’d meet them head-
And even if they weren’t specifically after him, he had no interest in letting dangerous people like that roam free in Jenton.
When dealing with foes at that level, you had to play by their rules. Mythical-tier families naturally had other mythical-tier families keeping them in check.
Through the Zahn family, Yelena, the Croma faction, and various other channels, Joseph quickly obtained detailed information about the newcomers. Two groups had entered Jenton. On the surface, they were part of an inspection team from an official organization based in Larkton.
The assassins had simply infiltrated the group.
But the most formidable killers among them were a husband-and-wife team. When they killed, they didn’t care about rules. They cared only about secrecy and efficiency.
The couple had disguised themselves as long-haul truck drivers who looked completely ordinary. Without knowing their identities, no one would ever suspect that they were highly trained killers. Yet, dozens of ordinary men wouldn’t even be able to get close to them in a real fight.
But Joseph wasn’t the kind of man who cared about fighting fair. After all, following the rules would be no different from walking straight to his own grave.
His men disguised themselves as traffic police and pulled the couple’s truck over on the side of the road. While the couple wasn’t paying attention, they pulled out tranquilizer guns and fired two darts, causing them to collapse on the spot.
Striking first and taking the initiative was always the wiser choice.
Joseph crippled their ability to fight right away. Those killers relied on fists and killing skills, so he would just take away their strength. After that, he handed them over to the police.
If they wanted to play rough, he’d return the favor.
As retaliation against the Dixon family, Joseph also sent people covertly into Larkton. Immediately, they set fire to the Dixon family’s ceremonial hall, which had stood for several centuries.
Then, in the underground parking garage of the Dixon Group’s headquarters, they caused at least three vehicles to spontaneously catch fire.
If Joseph had enough manpower, he would have gone straight for the Dixon family’s headquarters, striking when they least expected it and going straight for the head.
He didn’t necessarily have to kill anyone, but he would make sure they suffered, whether it was from poisoning, illness, or anything else.
He refused to believe that people who couldn’t even remain healthy would still have the luxury of trying to eliminate him.

After that, Cora went to Katie again and threatened her once more. With no other choice, Joseph finally called
Cora.
He said immediately, “I’ll come see you when I want to see you. Right now, I don’t. Why do you keep forcing me into things? What’s the point?”
Cora replied, “When did you become so vicious and shameless? You burned down someone’s property again. Do you even understand what you’ve done?”
They sent people to Jenton to eliminate him. They came for his life, so what else was he supposed to do? There was no room for negotiations at that point. If they couldn’t kill him, he’d kill them.
Joseph sneered. “What right do you have to lecture me? If you’re my wife, then bear the consequences of whatever I do to you. After all, we’re tied by marriage.
“If you’re afraid of being dragged into this, then divorce me. I’ll bear all the risks myself. But don’t come here acting like you have the right to judge me when you can’t even figure out where you stand in this. Do you think you’re any better?”
Cora replied, “You’re breaking the law, and you still think you’re in the right? When did you become like this? Are you even the same person anymore?”
