Joseph sent Yara back to the villa. He didn’t hit her, nor did he show her any affection. He just dropped her off and left.

Joseph replied, “She called me for help. If I hadn’t gone, she could have turned around and blamed everything on me in front of her family. I would have been the one taking the fall.

“What were your people supposed to do to her in such a situation? Tear her apart? If they had, everyone would only sympathize with her. Your husband might even feel sorry for her. Cora sighed. “My husband is truly capable. He always makes trouble for me.”

Cora responded, “Keep me updated on your search for him. His existence is your biggest leverage against the medical sect. As long as he’s still out there, you’ll be valued in the Zahn family.”

If another man had seen Yara willing to give so much, he might have been moved. However, Joseph wasn’t another man. He hated Skylar and Yara to the core.
