A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 760

Chapter 760

Yara couldn’t control Henry anymore. She said, “Let’s take a gamble. If we win, we’ll get everything back. If we lose, things can’t possibly get any worse than they already are.”

Skylar agreed. He called Henry in. At first, he had wanted Henry to treat the women and children he had outside well. However, Yara’s words had made him reconsider. If Henry didn’t have a conscience, the more demands they made, the more leverage they would be giving him.

In the end, Joseph obtained the entire fortune of Skylar and Yara. In exchange, he made countless promises and even swore some rather serious oaths. Of course, whatever oaths he swore had nothing to do with the real him.

Joseph thought that the next time he appeared in front of Skylar as himself, it would be time to finish Skylar.

Over the next several days, Joseph completely absorbed the wealth of Skylar and Yara. Seeing that Yara was recovering well, he arranged for her to return to the villa to recuperate.

Before leaving, Joseph said, “You wouldn’t pull the same stunt Cora did, would you? I mean, getting pregnant with Joseph before our wedding night and making me raise someone else’s child?”

Yara asked, “What did you just say? Cora’s eldest daughter was conceived before she married Joseph?”

Joseph questioned, “You didn’t know? You and your brother have done plenty of things yourselves. Don’t tell me you’re going to pretend you had nothing to do with any of it. If you do, I’ll only look down on you even more. There are no secrets between us anymore, so you don’t need to put on an act in front of me.”

Yara answered, “If Natalie was conceived before Cora married Joseph, Skylar must have slept with Cora before Joseph did.”

Upon hearing that, Joseph wanted nothing more than to strangle Yara. Then, he would rush back to the hospital and kill Skylar before returning to settle things with Cora.

Yara seemed to believe what Joseph had told her. She shouldn’t hide anything from him.

So, Yara continued, “However, the chances of that happening are incredibly small. Skylar and I both donated bone marrow when we were young, and Edmund was so obsessed with getting what he wanted that he didn’t care about the damage it did to our health.

“It affected our development afterward. Even though we’ve both tried our best to take care of ourselves, there are still many times when we feel like our bodies just can’t keep up. Skylar’s condition is even worse. It’s almost impossible for him to get a woman pregnant naturally. He can only rely on IVF births.”

Joseph replied, “Having low vitality doesn’t mean having none at all. Even a blind cat can stumble across a dead mouse. As long as there’s even a possibility, it can happen. Your brother knew Cora long before she met Joseph?”

Yara answered, “I think so. Back then, my health wasn’t very good, and I wasn’t qualified to get involved in my brother’s affairs. Most of the time, it was just him and my mother handling things.

“After my mother’s death, I inherited everything she left behind. It was only then that he let me participate in more of his affairs.”

Joseph asked, “What did your mother do?”

Yara responded, “She was a member of the medical sect. She was skilled. If she were still alive, Jenna wouldn’t be known as the Miracle Doctor. She accidentally became infected while conducting a virus experiment and couldn’t be saved.

“My father didn’t care about my brother or me. He even kept taking our blood. My mother died just as we were beginning to establish ourselves. We had miserable lives. Henry, don’t be so cruel to me, alright?

Joseph murmured, “Rachel Yale or Isla Yale?”

He remembered that when he looked through the medical sect’s history, only two female doctors in the recent records matched what Yara had described.

“Those were both my mother. She used both identities because it was more convenient,” answered Yara.

So, Rachel was playing the same game too.

Joseph narrowed his eyes with a faint smile. “Tell me about my brilliant mother-in-law’s
