A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 1032

Calliope spent some time freshening up in her room. As dinnertime drew near, she sent a message to the group chat, inviting everyone out for a meal together.

She stepped into the hallway just as Damien came out of the room next door.

She looked at him in surprise. “How did you know I was heading out for dinner?”

She hadn’t even messaged him yet, but there he was, as if he’d anticipated her perfectly.

Damien gave a sheepish grin and rubbed the back of his head. “It was about the right time, so I thought I’d check. You don’t think I was spying on you, do you?”

“Of course not. I just figured I’d pop out every few minutes. I didn’t want to disturb you, so I didn’t call.”

“You really don’t need to worry. I’ll always let you know when I’m going out.”

She flashed him a slightly exasperated smile.

Damien’s grin widened. “Well, then, I’d appreciate that.”

“Honestly, you’re the one who has to put up with being dragged around after me,” she said with a laugh.

Damien quickly waved her off. “Don’t say that! This is my job. Your safety comes first—and Mr. Myers pays me for a reason.”

Calliope nodded and headed out, Damien faithfully following behind.

Not far away, Ulysses had overheard Calliope’s sound and hurried over. But as soon as he saw Julius with her, he stopped, the enthusiasm draining from his face. An empty ache gnawed at his chest. Once, she’d been his sister too. Now, she was someone he hardly knew.

Old memories flitted across his mind. She had been such a sweet child, and he’d loved playing with her. He remembered how thrilled he’d been when he first found out he had a sister.

But all that changed after he fell for Lisette Jewell’s lies. Lisette deceived them, and he’d believed every word, always at Callie’s expense.

Now, any hope of repairing their relationship was long gone. Sometimes he wondered if things could have been different—if he’d been kinder, paid more attention, maybe she would still think of them as her brothers, blood or no blood.

But regrets meant nothing now. They couldn’t change the past. The ache lingered.

Beside him, his agent remained completely in the dark about his feelings, focused only on the fact that Calliope was someone worth winning over.
