A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust novel Chapter 1033

“Go say hello to Ms. Jewell,” Miranda nudged him, her voice eager. “I just found out—she’s the screenwriter C C!”

“You mean the legendary screenwriter C—the one who’s behind all those blockbuster hits? That’s Ms. Jewell?” Miranda’s eyes sparkled with admiration as she glanced at Calliope. “I never would have guessed. Her work is all over the map—some of it is insanely deep. We all assumed the writer was some older, wise veteran, not a young woman like her.”

Ulysses didn’t respond, just glanced sideways at Miranda. She had no clue about his tangled family history. She’d been away on leave for quite some time, only just coming back to work with him, so she hardly knew anything about Calliope. She definitely didn’t know that Calliope used to be his sister—or that things were so sour between them, Calliope probably couldn’t stand the sight of him. If Calliope suddenly booted him off the production, nobody would be surprised.

“What’s wrong with you?” Miranda frowned, impatient. “Go on, introduce yourself! She’s not just the screenwriter C—rumor has it she’s an investor too. I’ve heard her net worth is off the charts, her connections practically legendary!”

“That’s true, she’s both the investor and the screenwriter C,” Ulysses admitted, his gaze drifting toward Calliope. Even if she refused to acknowledge him, a strange sense of pride flickered in his chest.

“Then what are you waiting for? Look at how chummy she is with Julius. You should absolutely get in with both of them. Julius is at the very top—whether he’s singing, acting, you name it. Everyone’s obsessed with him lately—literally every age group!” Miranda went on enthusiastically. “And people say his fortune-telling is crazy accurate! I want a reading from him so badly, but supposedly he only does it under special circumstances. If only you could get half as popular as he is…”

Ulysses could only smile faintly. That seemed way out of reach.

“So what is it?” Miranda’s unease deepened, dread knotting in her stomach. Was her shot at stardom as a top-tier agent about to slip away before it even began?

Meeting her worried gaze, Ulysses explained it all—from the time Calliope was brought into their family as a child, to how their parents favored their adopted daughter and neglected Calliope, and finally, when they discovered Calliope had no real blood ties to the Jewell family, sealing a decades-old grudge.

“What the hell?” Miranda stared at him in disbelief. “You’ve got that kind of complicated mess with Calliope? Seriously, is your whole family out of their minds? Of all the people to alienate, you went after her? If I heard you right, she’s not just some miracle doctor and a genius writer—she might have even more wild secrets up her sleeve?”
