The King Of Warriors novel (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6409

The wound, and the insult of it, smashed through the last of Marshal Vale’s restraint. Killing intent flooded his eyes, and the violence around him surged wildly. “You lowly insects dared to wound me. You are begging to die!”

Before the last word had fully fallen, the baleful shadow around him suddenly contracted in a frenzy. In the next instant, his entire body vanished into the darkness.

It was not ordinary concealment through movement. He had completely merged into the Law of Night that filled the world.

His flesh, aura, celestial power, and even the fluctuations of his spirit were all wiped away. He disappeared utterly into the dim chamber, leaving no trace to follow and no mark to detect.

Jared immediately gathered himself for defense. His spiritual soul spread outward in every direction like a crushing tide, scanning the entire Third Depth again and again.

"But he could not catch even the faintest trace of Marshal Vale's aura.

It was as if the man had never been there at all."

"No! He has mastered the Umbral Veil and merged into the Law of Night. He has no shape, no shadow, and he is hiding killing intent in the dark. Everyone, watch your backs!"

Nathaniel's shout cut across the Third Depth, forcing the others onto guard.

Before the warning had even finished ringing out, a bone-cold whistle tore open the dead darkness behind Jared.

"A black spear radiance, condensed to the absolute limit, gathered every thread of baleful force into one point.

It came without sound or warning, viciously angled, stabbing straight for the vital point at Jared's back."

"Jared caught the edge of the lethal crisis in time, and his body moved on instinct.

He twisted aside at the last possible instant, barely saving his heart, but the razor-sharp spear radiance still ripped through the flesh of his shoulder. The wound split deep enough to show bone, and scalding golden blood burst out at once, splattering across the ground."

"The instant the strike landed, Marshal Vale's silhouette flashed and vanished.

He sank back into the boundless dark, coming and going without a trace, waiting for the next opening to hunt again."

"At that critical moment, Elder Cillian stopped holding the rear.

He made the decision cleanly and struck with everything he had."

"His aged hands formed seals in a blur.

Vast, surging verdant spiritual power erupted from within him."

"In a heartbeat, that power became thousands upon thousands of thick, resilient ancient-wood vines.

They crisscrossed through the air, spread out in an instant, and wove into a dense net that covered the entire Third Depth."

"A soft emerald spiritual light flowed over every vine.

Within it stirred the worldsense unique to the Sylvan Kin, slipping into every gap and locking down every corner of the chamber."

"So what if darkness hides his form? Under the Verdant Law, nothing escapes sight!"

"Elder Cillian's shout cracked through the darkness.

Driven by his spiritual soul, the vines filling the air suddenly tightened all at once, clamping hard around a strange fluctuation in the void barrier."

"Marshal Vale, hidden inside it, had nowhere left to evade.

He was dragged by force out of the Law of Night, and his form was forced back into view."

"His face darkened.

With a harsh shout, he brought the sable spear down with his full strength, and a surge of baleful shadow sheared through the vines wrapped around him."

But that brief instant of delay, that brief exposure, had already given Jared the perfect chance to attack.

"Jared stepped across the void and shot forward.

The Dragonslayer Sword carried chaos-flame powerful enough to destroy everything in its path, driving straight for the lethal point at Marshal Vale's throat."

"Marshal Vale raised his spear in a rushed block.

The moment spear and sword collided, Gwendolyn's Hallowed Rime Needles arrived again on his heels, locking precisely onto both his eyes, their frost energy sharp and hard to guard against."

"Pressed by the crisis, Marshal Vale could only jerk his head aside and dodge.

That one choice tore his opening wide."

"Jared seized it.

His sword momentum shifted, and the keen blade drove hard into Marshal Vale's right shoulder. Chaos-flame poured wildly through the wound, burning through his meridians and breaking apart his hallowed celestial power."

"Aaah!"

"Marshal Vale's roar burst out like a beast's.

The pain tore through him until every last thread of restraint snapped."

"The sable spear suddenly erupted with black radiance that seemed to cover the sky and swallow the sun.

Surging baleful shadow detonated outward."

The terrible shock turned into a ring-shaped blast wave and swept across the entire battlefield in an instant.

"Jared, Gwendolyn, and Elder Cillian were all caught off guard.

The violent force slammed them backward, their blood and vital energy churning as a heavy blockage pressed through their chests."

"By then, Marshal Vale's whole body was covered in wounds.

Hallowed celestial blood ran over him, his panoply had been broken in several places, and cuts marked him from head to toe."

"Yet in those purple eyes, only madness and bloodlust remained.

His combat strength had not fallen. It had risen instead, and the pressure around him grew more terrifying by the breath."

They packed the air in endless layers, pouring out of the black fog without pause. One wave fell, and another rushed over it, each one throwing itself forward as if death meant nothing."

"Holding the chaotic force at that intensity against the spirit offensive drained Jared's spiritual power at a terrifying speed.

His aura kept slipping. His face grew paler by the breath, and fine beads of cold sweat pushed out along his temples."

"Around Gwendolyn, ice-blue rimehallowed radiance flowed without stopping.

Deepfrost power rose into wall after wall of ice, freezing every wraith that lunged at her into glittering ice crystal before shattering them with a crash."

"But releasing the Rimehallow Art over such a wide range for so long tore through her spiritual power.

Her arms began to tremble slightly, and her aura gradually fell into disorder."

"Elder Cillian's countless defensive vines fared no better beneath the mad biting and impact of the wraith horde.

One after another, they snapped, withered, and broke apart inch by inch. His verdant spiritual power had been overdrawn badly."

"A sharp pain tore through his chest.

A line of red blood slowly spilled from the corner of his mouth, and his body swayed where he stood."

"Jared, we can't stay locked like this! The Thousand-Wraith Devouring burns through power too fast. If this drags on, the three of us will run dry, and defeat will be certain. We have to use a stronger trump card to break the situation!"

Elder Cillian forced his injury down and shouted the warning in a hard, urgent voice.

"Jared clenched his teeth.

The situation had already reached the edge, and he left no room for delay. His hand shot into his robe and drew out the ancient, heavy Beast-Quelling Tower."

"He poured everything he had left into it.

Chaotic force, nascence-wrought spiritual power—nothing was held back as all of it surged violently into the tower's body."

"In that instant, the Beast-Quelling Tower erupted with white radiance that seemed to blaze ten thousand yards high.

A dazzling milky-white pillar of light tore through the darkness and shot straight upward, lighting all of Blackstone Gaol's Third Depth in a single breath."

"A vast and holy purifying force swept out in every direction.

Wherever the pillar of light passed, the black wraiths crowding the sky melted away to nothing."

"The churning black fog of resentment and killing malice was purified layer by layer.

It broke down, unraveled, and dispersed until the cold, death-soaked air had been swept clean."

"The moment Marshal Vale sensed that purest purifying force, his whole body locked hard.

His pupils shrank violently, and his face twisted as if the sight in front of him had torn apart everything he had believed possible."

"The Beast-Quelling Tower! The legendary relic that suppresses all evil and purifies the heavens—you actually hold that ancient divine relic in your hands!"
