Chapter 518
FAYE
As soon as I got into the room, I scrolled through my contacts and tapped Irene’s name.
The phone rang several times, but she didn’t answer.
When the call disconnected, I lowered my phone and shrugged.
“She must be busy,” I murmured to myself.
It wasn’t a big deal. I could always call her again later.
Since I was probably going to head out to buy a few things anyway, I decided I might as well change into something more comfortable first.
I walked into the closet, looked through my clothes for a moment, and picked out a simple outfit. A few minutes later, I stepped back into the bedroom after changing, brushing a few loose strands of hair behind
my ear.
Just then, my phone started ringing.
I smiled when I saw Irene’s name on the screen and answered immediately.
“Hello.”
“I’m so sorry I missed your call,” Irene said. “I was in the shower, and I only saw your missed call after I
came back to the room.”
“It’s alright,” I replied. “I figured you were probably busy.”
“I’m glad you didn’t think I was ignoring you,” Irene said with a small laugh. “How have you been? How are things at Blood Crescent?”
“We’re doing fine,” I replied. “Everything is alright over here.”
“I’m happy to hear that,” Irene said. “And how are you doing personally?”
“I’m doing well too,” I answered.
“That’s good,” Irene said warmly. “So, what did you need? You don’t usually call me at this time of day
unless there’s a reason.”
I smiled.
“You’re right,” I admitted. “I actually wanted to ask you something.”
“Go ahead,” Irene said attentively.
“I was wondering if you could tell me something Alexander likes to eat,” I said. “I wanted to prepare
something special for him.”

There was a brief silence before Irene let out a delighted little laugh.
Clam
“Faye, that is so sweet,” she said. “Now you’re going to have to tell me what that stiff brother of mine did to
deserve such a romantis-gesture.”
I couldn’t help laughing.
“I’ll make sure I tell Alexander you called him stiff,” I replied.
Irene laughed.
“Please do,” she said. “I stand by every word.”
I shook my head, still smiling.
“So,” I said, “are you going to help me or not?”
“I am,” Irene replied. “Although I don’t think my answer is going to be very helpful.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“You already know Alexander isn’t much of a food person,” Irene said. “He’s been like that for as long as I
can remember.”
“I know,” I admitted.
“He doesn’t really have a favorite meal,” Irene continued. “At least, not one that he’s ever cared enough to
mention. Honestly, you can make anything you want.”
“Anything?” I asked.
“Yes,” Irene replied confidently. “Alexander isn’t going to care what you cook. He’s going to care that you
made it.”
I stayed quiet, listening.
“I’m serious, Faye,” Irene continued. “That brother of mine is so into you that you could make him a cup of coffee, and he would cherish every second you spent making it simply because it came from you.”
I smiled to myself.
“I suppose you’re right,” I said.
୮
“I know I am,” Irene replied. “So don’t stress yourself trying to find the perfect meal. Just cook something that you genuinely want to make for him.”
“I can do that,” I said with a nod.
There was a brief pause before Irene spoke again.
“You know, I think I’m going to start charging consultation fees.”
I frowned in confusion.

Consultation fees?” I repeated.
