A Warrior's Second Chance (Faye and Alexander) novel Chapter 582

Chapter 569-2

But there wasn’t much to say.

They had killed another of my own.

I turned toward the door.

We’re going to find out who did this.

As I left, a part of me felt responsible for what happened.

BLOOD CRESCENT

ALEXANDER

I had been back at the pack house for some time before I realized I hadn’t seen Faye yet.

I was sitting in the living room, going through a few things on my phone, when the thought suddenly crossed my mind. Since returning, I hadn’t seen her once. It was unusual enough that I found myself looking toward the stairs for a moment, almost expecting her to appear.

When she didn’t, I picked up my phone and called her.

She answered after a few rings.

Where are you?I asked.

I’m in Irene’s room,” Faye said. Are you back?

Yes, I came in a while ago.

I said it as I glanced toward the direction of the staircase again.

I’ll join you soon,” she said.

Alright.

The call ended, and I placed my phone back on the table.

Martha,I called.

It didn’t take long before she appeared.

Welcome back, Alpha.

I nodded, Thank you. Bring me a glass of water.

Of course

She turned to leave, but after a few steps, she paused and looked back

Would you like your lunch served?

I almost asked her when was the last time she had seen me have lunch at this time of the day,

I shook my head, No. Just water, please.

She nodded before leaving.

The quiet didn’t last long

The door opened a few minutes later, and Cole walked in. He didn’t say anything at first. He simply walked over and sat across from me.

For a while, we both stayed occupied with our phones.

Then Cole suddenly looked up. The expression on his face changed as if he had remembered something important.

Alexander,he said.

I looked up at him.

He stared at me seriously. Is there some kind of dress code for the family date tomorrow?

For a moment, I said nothing.

Then I laughed.

It was obvious he was trying to be funny.

Cole, however, did not laugh.

I am being serious,he said.

I looked at him. No, you are not.

I am.

I shook my head. If you were actually serious, you would be asking the person who invited

you, not me.

Cole sighed. WellI thought you might know.

Before I could answer, Martha returned with the water and placed it on the table.

Thank you,” I said.

She left the room.

Cole looked at me again but said nothing.

Are you going to say what’s actually on your mind?I asked. Or are you just going to sit there and pretend to be concerned about some dress code?I added.

Cole sighed. The thing is, I was supposed to have a date with Anna tomorrow.

I raised an eyebrow. And?

And now Helen called. I don’t even know where to begin.

I looked at him for a moment.

It is simple. Bring Anna with you.

His reaction was immediate.

Before I could even reach for my glass, he grabbed it from the table and drank the entire thing.

I stared at him.

He placed the empty glass back down.

No, thank you,” he said.

I looked at the glass, then at him.

Chupter 566-2

He looked at me like I had suggested something unreasonable.

How can you ask me to go with Anna?

I frowned, Why not? She’s your mate, isn’t she?

Cole sighed,

It’s Helen.

I waited for him to continue.

You know how she is,Cole said.

I did.

Everyone did.

Helen has a problem with everyone and everything.

I smirked.

What if she doesn’t approve of Anna?
