Chapter 572
ALEXANDER
I stood up from my chair.
Ambrose immediately looked up at me. I walked around the desk slowly, stopping in front
him.
He was still on his knees. The fear was obvious now. It was written all over his face.
The same man who had spent years handling responsibilities within my pack was now looking at me like he was waiting for the final judgment.
But I wasn’t interested in seeing him broken.
I was interested in the truth.
“Stand up.”
The command seemed to surprise him.
His eyes widened slightly.
For a moment, he looked like he wasn’t sure he had heard me correctly.
Then he slowly pushed himself up.
He stood in front of me, still tense, still expecting anger.
“I need proof.”
My voice was calm.
Ambrose blinked. “Proof, Alpha?”
I held his gaze.
“You have made a serious accusation.”
His expression changed slightly.
“You are telling me that Vince manipulated you, threatened your family, and forced you to alter official records.”
I paused.

“Your words alone are not enough.”
Ambrose immediately nodded. “I understand.”
His response came quickly.
“I have proof,” he added.
He seemed to realize what he had just said because he continued immediately. “I have everything. Messages, records… anything that can prove what happened.”
His voice became more urgent.
I studied him for a minute.
If he was telling the truth, then those pieces of evidence could change everything.
Clan
But I had learned long ago not to move based on words alone. I was not about to make any decision until I actually had the evidence.
Ambrose nodded quickly. “I will give you everything. Just give me time.”
I looked at him carefully.
There was still fear in his expression.
But beneath it, there was also relief.
Relief that I had given him a chance to prove himself.
I wasn’t forgiving him.
Not yet.
Trust was not something that returned simply because someone finally told the truth when caught.
But if he had evidence, I would see it.
I took a step back.
“You have twenty–four hours.”
Ambrose’s expression became more serious. “Yes, Alpha.”
“After that, I make my decision,” I said.
He nodded. “I understand.”

I turned away from him and walked back toward my desk.
The conversation was over.
“Get out.”
There was no anger in my voice.
There didn’t need to be.
Ambrose hesitated for only a moment before bowing his head.
“Yes, Alpha.”
Then he turned and rushed out of the office.
FAYE
I sat in the living room with Irene and Cole, but my mind was nowhere near the conversation happening around me.
They had been talking for the last several minutes, but I barely registered any of it.
My thoughts kept returning to one thing.
Alexander and Ambrose.
I wondered what they were discussing right now.
Of course, I already knew.
There was only one reason Alexander would invite him today.
The projects.
The missing materials.
The reports that didn’t match what Alexander had found.
The entire situation that had been bothering him since yesterday.
But even knowing that, I couldn’t help wondering what Ambrose had to say for himself.
I wanted to hear his explanation.
I wanted to know whether there was a reason behind everything that had happened or if this was simply another betrayal Alexander had to deal with.
Ambrose had looked tense.
Not just nervous… terse
Like someone who already knew the conversation ahead of him was not going to be an eas
one.
Alexander had been sitting beside me while we were all talking about Helen’s birthday. The conversation had been light, and for a moment, everything had felt completely normal
Then the man walked in. The moment I heard Alexander refer to him as Ambrose, I recognized the name immediately.
Alexander mentioned him yesterday
The project supervisor.
The person responsible for overseeing the work that had now become a serious problem
When Alexander excused himself and asked Ambrose to follow him to the office, I had almost followed them. The thought had crossed my mind.
I wanted to know what was happening too.
I wanted to be there if Alexander needed support
But then I looked at Ambrose.
