Chapter 600
Chapter 600
JASON
The moment Sage mentioned Faye, I already knew where this was going.
It was always the same.
Whenever we had an argument, whenever something happened between us, Faye somehow found her way into the conversation.
I looked at Sage carefully, trying to figure out what game she was playing this time.
“I don’t have time for your drama, Sage. Say what you want and let me be.”
Her expression immediately hardened.
“I’m being serious. You really think I came here to make jokes?”
I said nothing.
She crossed her arms.
“That was part of what I wanted to talk to you about yesterday before I walked into your office and found you making a fool of yourself.”
The reminder was deliberate.
I ignored it.
“What is Faye coming to Silver Hollow for?” I asked.
Sage’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“She said she wanted to visit home,” she said.
“That’s it?”
“Yes.”
She looked annoyed.
“Maybe she misses home. Maybe she wants to see her family. Not everything has some hidden meaning behind it, Jason,” Sage said.
I didn’t respond. A lot began to run through my head.

Because the truth was, I wasn’t sure what I wanted the answer to be.
A part of me didn’t hate the idea of Faye coming back.
Claim
Despite everything that had happened, despite the distance between us now, Faye was still someone who had been important to this pack.
More than that, she had been important to me once.
Before everything changed.
Before choices were made.
Before everything became complicated.
The thought of seeing her again stirred something uncomfortable inside me.
But at the same time, I couldn’t ignore the reality of the situation.
Silver Hollow was not the same pack Faye had left behind.
There were cracks everywhere.
The destroyed supply depot had weakened us more than I wanted to admit.
Our resources were limited.
Our allies were disappearing.
And now Conrad was standing at our doorstep, demanding answers.
The last thing I wanted was for Faye to return and see the state we were in.
To see how much control I had lost.
Because that was the part I hated the most. Not the problems themselves.
Problems could be solved. It was the fact that everyone could see them.
The council could see it. The elders could see it.
The pack could see it.
And if Faye came back now, she would see it too.
For a moment, I imagined what it would be like if she returned.
I imagined asking for her opinion.
< Chapter 600
Maybe she could help.
Claim
Maybe her experience as a warrior and her connections could provide solutions we hadn’t. considered.
But things had changed.
And the council was already talking about Blood Crescent.
They were already considering reaching out to Alexander.
If Faye stepped into Silver Hollow now, they would not hesitate.
They would look at her as the bridge between us and Blood Crescent.
They would remind everyone that she was Alexander’s Luna.
They would see her as our way out, and I couldn’t stand the thought.
I was still Alpha of Silver Hollow. This was my pack.
My responsibility.
If I refused Alexander’s help, he would have no right to interfere.
Blood Crescent had no right to involve themselves in matters that belonged to Silver Hollow without my permission.
But that didn’t change the fact that the moment Faye arrived and saw the situation, our weakness would already be exposed.
Everyone would know.
Everyone would understand that Silver Hollow was struggling.
I looked back at Sage.
“Did you reach out to Faye for help?”
Her expression changed slightly.
“What now?”
I held her gaze.
“Did you call her because you wanted her to come here?”
Sage looked offended.
< Chapter 600
“I already told you. She is just coming to visit.”
I watched her carefully.
“Is that really all?”
“Yes, Jason.”
Her voice became sharper.
“Not everything is about you expecting some kind of betrayal.”
I ignored the comment.
“Or is this just a coincidence? She decides to come home right when everything is falling apart?”
Sage let out a frustrated breath.
“You are impossible,” she said.
She stepped closer.
“She is coming because she wants to visit. That is all,” Sage said.
I remained silent.
Sage shook her head.
“And honestly, I don’t know why you are making this complicated.”
She held out her hand.
“Give me the money so I can prepare for her arrival.”
I looked at her. There was a part of me that wanted to refuse.
Because of Sage.
After everything that happened yesterday, the last thing I wanted was to reward her behavior.
But this wasn’t about her.
