Chapter 604
FAYE
The elevator doors opened, and we stepped inside.
Clam
I leaned against the wall, watching Alexander as he stood beside me, completely calm, as though
he had not just admitted that he had no idea where he was taking me for lunch.
“You’re aware that most people decide where they are eating before they leave their office, right?”
“I am aware,” he said.
He was smiling like a child who had been caught being naughty.
“And yet you don’t.”
“Just trust me,” Alexander said.
I shook my head, unable to stop the smile that appeared on my face. I had a feeling he was up to
something today… I just didn’t know what yet.
When the elevator reached the parking level, the doors opened again, and we stepped out.
I was still thinking about where he could possibly decide to take me when I noticed someone
walking toward us.
Alexander’s assistant, Ash.
She approached with quick steps. I noticed she had something in her hand.
A key.
I assumed it belonged to Alexander. Perhaps she had taken his car out and was returning it.
That was the only explanation that came to my mind.
She stopped in front of us and bowed slightly.
“Alpha.”
Alexander nodded.
Then she turned toward me.
“Luna.”
I smiled and returned the greeting. Ash extended the key in her hand.
My eyes moved from the key to Alexander.

I waited for him to take it, but he didn’t move. Instead, he simply looked at me.
I frowned slightly, wondering what was happening?
Ash seemed to understand before I did. She turned and held the key out to me again.
Slowly, I reached forward and accepted it.
I looked down at it, still trying to understand why I was the one holding it.
Then Ash smiled.
“Congratulations, Luna. I hope you enjoy your new car.”
I blinked.
My new car?
Before I could ask what she meant, Ash bowed once more.
Alexander acknowledged her with a nod. Then she turned and walked away.
The key sat in my hand, but my mind was still trying to catch up.
I looked at Alexander, and he looked far too pleased with himself.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
Instead of answering me, he glanced toward the key. Then back at me.
“Press the button,” Alexander said.
I looked at him suspiciously before I pressed the button on the key.
A sound came from the parking lot… a vehicle responding.
A black car stood a short distance away… Brand new. The sunlight reflected against its surface, making it stand out immediately.
For several seconds, I simply stared. I looked back at Alexander, then back at the car. My hand slowly rose to cover my mouth.
I walked to the car and really looked at it… touched it I didn’t even know what to say.
Alexander walked closer, watching my reaction.
“I told you I had a surprise for you.”
“You bought me a car,” I said.
He nodded.

I laughed softly. “This is beautiful, thank you.”
I suspected he was up to something, but this. Before I could say anything else, he leaned slightly
toward me, his voice low near my ear.
“How would you like to drive us to lunch in your new car?”
I turned fully toward him, certain I had heard him wrong.
Alexander wanted me to drive?
The same Alexander who usually acted as though the road itself was a threat whenever I was
