Starla took a deep breath and kept her thoughts to herself.
Everyone was wired differently! She personally would have gone insane living in a cage like this.
"I guess Fairfax isn't going to let you go out either, huh?" Yvonne asked sympathetically. "Your brother is such a jerk! I always knew he was ruthless, but I never expected him to be this sick when it came to you!"
Whenever Yvonne brought up Yardley, her tone dripped with deep disappointment.
And Starla had absolutely zero desire to discuss him.
"Babe, you cooked again?"
Amos's voice suddenly echoed through the room.
Yvonne blinked and turned around. "Starla said it's delicious. Your taste buds are just broken."
For the longest time, she had truly believed she was the problem.
Because no matter what she made, Amos claimed it was garbage. She had honestly started to think her cooking was cursed.
But now that Starla validated her, it was officially an Amos problem!
Amos walked over and slung an arm around her shoulders. "Why are you bringing *him* up again?"
He had heard her mention Yardley just before he walked in!
Honestly, he despised hearing Yardley's name, especially coming from Yvonne's lips.
"I just said he's a jerk, nothing else," Yvonne defended herself.
"What else were you planning to say?"
The jealousy in his voice was thick enough to cut with a knife!
Starla felt a headache coming on. She couldn't eat in this atmosphere. She quickly made an excuse and slipped out.
Although Yvonne hadn't said much, Starla had gotten the message loud and clear.
Now that she was in Cyrus Sea, getting out was not going to be easy.
Escaping Yardley's castle had been hard enough.
Now this...!
Fairfax stepped out to look for Starla.
Spotting her in the hallway, he hurried over.
"Where did you go? I was looking everywhere for you."
"If that's your goal, don't waste your energy. The one thing I absolutely refuse to do is go back to an ex."
Fairfax was stunned into silence.
A wave of despair crashed over his chest.
He had always known exactly what kind of woman she was. He knew that once he lost her, getting her back would be an uphill battle.
Her hysterical breakdown in Marina City had been proof enough of that.
He knew turning her heart around would be nearly impossible.
"So what am I supposed to do then? I am going to win you back!" Fairfax insisted.
He didn't care about dignity anymore.
Amos had told him to coax her.
But in Fairfax's mind, the only thing he could rely on now was sheer, shameless persistence.
Only by throwing away his pride completely could he keep himself tangled in her life.
"Then you're destined to be disappointed," Starla said coldly.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
