A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 820

"What did you just say?" Yulisa snapped, her face turning ugly the second Tanya mentioned needing Darian's permission.

Darian had come home the night before and completely lost his mind! He had turned the entire Lynn estate upside down over Tanya. Everyone in the family knew exactly where he stood—he was never going to agree to an abortion. In fact, he was currently fighting tooth and nail to marry Tanya because of it!

Naturally, the family was refusing to let that happen.

That was exactly why Yulisa had shown up first thing in the morning. If she could pressure Tanya into aborting the baby, Darian would lose his main reason for wanting to marry her so urgently.

But Tanya clearly wasn't going to play ball.

"I said, if I get rid of this baby, Darian has to look me in the eye and agree to it. Did you hear me clearly this time?"

The first time, Darian hadn't known she was pregnant, so she had planned to just take care of it quietly. But things were different now. He knew!

Yulisa's expression turned incredibly dark. "You should know exactly what this child means to you. The Lynn family does not welcome it."

"If you think you're going to use this baby to trap him, you are going to be very disappointed!"

"I'm not using anything to trap anyone," Tanya replied coolly. "But Darian needs to know what's happening."

With that, Tanya pulled out her phone and started dialing Darian's number.

Yulisa panicked. "What are you doing? Are you trying to tattle on me?"

Damn it. She couldn't let Darian know she was here trying to force an abortion. The 'cool best friend' persona she had spent years cultivating would be destroyed in an instant!

Lunging forward, Yulisa snatched the phone right out of Tanya's hand.

"Give it back!" Tanya demanded.

"You bitch, you were really going to call him!"

Tanya grabbed a fruit knife off the coffee table and pointed it straight at Yulisa. "I said, give me my phone."

Suddenly, Yulisa's entire demeanor flipped. "Please, don't do this! Put the knife down, someone could get hurt!"

But Darian didn't even pause. He walked right past Tanya and rushed straight to Yulisa. The moment his fingers brushed the blood on her face, he whipped around to glare at Tanya.

His eyes weren't just angry—they were explosive.

"What is wrong with you?!" he bellowed.

"She's acting! Don't let her play you!"

Two minutes ago, when Darian wasn't in the room, Yulisa had been a completely different person. But now, Yulisa was bleeding.

Given the setup, there was absolutely no way Darian was going to believe her. Tanya's words felt pathetic and useless even to her own ears.

"Darian, it hurts..." Yulisa whimpered, grabbing onto his sleeve. "Please don't be mad at Ms. Mercer. I know she didn't mean it."

She really hadn't meant it.

But Darian wasn't listening. He completely ignored Tanya, turning his back to her. "I'm taking you to the hospital."
