The words felt like a vise tightening around Fairfax's heart. "Don't worry, it'll all be over soon."
"I said don't come!" Susanna screamed hysterically.
Suddenly, her bedroom door swung open. Yardley Hoggart's imposing figure stood in the doorway. Susanna jumped, her phone slipping from her trembling fingers and clattering to the floor.
His face was an unreadable, terrifying mask. Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs.
Yardley stepped into the room, his movements deliberate, and picked up the phone. The call was still connected.
"Susanna? Susanna? What happened?!" Fairfax's panicked voice echoed from the speaker. He had heard the drop and assumed the worst.
Susanna stared at Yardley, her face completely drained of color, terror radiating from her eyes. He was a psychopath. A monster.
Yardley held her gaze with a chilling indifference as he lifted the phone. "When do you arrive in Yoran?" he asked coolly.
Fairfax recognized the voice. "Don't you dare touch her!"
"Touch her? I've already done far worse."
"Yardley, you bastard!"
"Did you bring Starla?" Yardley demanded, entirely unfazed by Fairfax's rage.
"Yes! So leave Susanna alone!"

Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
