A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1121

After Fairfax's blunt warning, Darian decided it was best to keep his distance from Yulisa.

Yulisa snapped. "You're taking this too far! You're throwing away our friendship over a woman?"

"If you had any balls, you'd know what loyalty is. What the hell is this?"

Yulisa was speechless.

Darian glared at her. "Get out. Why are you still here?"

With him putting it so bluntly, having her around only irritated him further.

He was filled with regret. Back in Marina City, if he had just listened to Fairfax, he wouldn't have pushed Tanya away. Now that she was gone, it felt like a fog had lifted from his brain. He was thinking clearly again. Handling things was much easier now.

He just hoped... hoped that wherever Tanya was abroad, she was keeping tabs on him. That knowing he had kicked Yulisa out would give her some peace of mind.

Then he thought of their baby.

The regret intensified, threatening to swallow him whole. This was all his fault. Back then, he refused to listen to anyone. Maybe it was because Yulisa had suddenly started acting so domestic. The change had been jarring. If she didn't have ulterior motives, why would a girl who used to be so notoriously lazy suddenly start cooking for him?

Bringing him meals every single day! It was obviously suspicious.

*Crash!* Yulisa shoved her chair back so hard it tipped over.

A flash of genuine hurt crossed her eyes, which didn't escape Darian's notice.

He was sure of it now. At some point, Yulisa had developed romantic feelings for him.

"Darian, you're crossing a line! You know exactly what we mean to each other! And now, for some womanโ€”"

"She's not just 'some woman'." Darian's voice was absolute ice, cutting her off instantly.
