A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 1124

She had chased away the woman he loved. Darian was practically breathing fire.

"What do I do now? I can't find her anywhere." Even cutting ties with Yulisa wouldn't magically bring Tanya back.

"Can't you just let her go?" Fairfax asked.

"Man, you're asking me to die!" Let Tanya go? Absolutely not. He had to find her. The past few weeks had been pure agony. He was desperate. But every resource he had deployed had come up empty.

"If she doesn't want to be found, you're not going to find her," Fairfax stated flatly. Tanya was hiding on purpose. And Darian needed to rememberโ€”he had been the one to abandon her first.

*Abandoned.*

The word twisted like a knife in Fairfax's own gut. Wasn't he facing the exact same impossible choice between Starla and his family? The weight of it was crushing him.

"Enough, I'm done talking," Fairfax said, abruptly hanging up before Darian could respond.

Darian stared at his phone, hearing the dial tone. He recognized the heavy grief in Fairfax's voice, but his own frustration was about to make him explode.

"Where the hell did that damn woman run off to?" he cursed. He had checked everywhere he could think of. She had vanished into thin air.

...

Over at Cyrus Sea.

After Amos left, Fairfax was completely consumed by his internal war.

Percy approached him. "Sir."
