After Eleanor had initially vetoed Yulisa, they had tried lining up other suitable heiresses for Darian, but he had managed to aggressively offend every single one of them.
At this point, Yulisa was literally the only option left.
Darian laughed humorlessly. "So this isn't about Yulisa being the perfect match. This is just you choosing between Tanya and Yulisa by default."
If there was a third option, Yulisa wouldn't even be in the running.
Rowena scoffed. "You know as well as I do that Yulisa is the best fit for you right now."
"I think I know who's a good fit for me better than you do."
"You think Tanya is a good fit. But we will never accept her!"
Rowena's voice turned vicious. She knew exactly what kind of person Tanya was.
"Stop dreaming about a future with her. We didn't accept her when she was carrying your child, and we certainly aren't going to accept her now that the baby is gone."
She delivered the words with cruel precision.
She knew about the baby. And she knew that a woman as fiercely independent and unyielding as Tanya would never have kept it under these circumstances. That exact stubbornness was precisely why Rowena and the elders hated her so much.
"We are not letting another Starla Lansbury into our family!"
Everyone in Marina City knew exactly how Starla had brought the mighty Yelchin family to its knees. If Tanya officially joined their family, she would be Starla 2.0. No family could survive a woman like that.
Darian's eyes flashed with cold fury. "Has it ever occurred to you that if Starla turned out the way she did, it was because the Yelchins pushed her into it?"
Always demanding blind obedience, always punishing any form of resistance.
"Youโ!"
"If they had just treated Starla with a shred of decency from the beginning, none of that would have happened. And if you treated Tanya well, she wouldn't have to fight you at every turn."
As far as Darian was concerned, Starla had been perfectly reasonable in the beginning. The Yelchins had manufactured their own destruction.
Hearing Darian imply she should treat Tanya well sent Rowena over the edge!
He would never agree to it.
Rowena's face was livid.
"You'll marry her whether you want to or not. The wedding preparations have already begun."
She had set the wheels in motion before she even arrived at the house. Darian's refusal meant nothing.
Some things were simply out of his hands.
Darian's eyes darkened with rage at the mention of the wedding.
"Do I look like a puppet to you?"
Rowena met his furious glare, a chilling edge creeping into her voice.
"Puppet or not, your marriage to Yulisa is already a done deal."

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
