Hoggart Group was relentlessly chipping away at the Yelchin Group’s overseas projects, leaving Fairfax at his wit's end. He had been locked in meetings with the international management team all night, and by the time they finished, the next workday was already beginning.
Gabriel, who had been by his side the entire time, was exhausted. He asked Vivian to bring a cup of coffee into Fairfax's office.
Seeing Gabriel so drained, Vivian muttered, “Seriously, what did this company do to piss off the Hoggart Group?”
Sending her in to deliver coffee felt like a death sentence. The atmosphere in the office had been suffocating for days, and she was tempted to call her father and tell him she was done with this ‘work experience.’ The stress was taking a toll on her.
Gabriel shot her a warning look. “You and that mouth of yours. You’ll get fired by HR and won’t even know why. Fix your attitude.”
At the mention of her attitude, Vivian pouted. “Fix my attitude? The boss brings his emotions to work every day.”
Besides, she wouldn't mind being fired. It would give her a legitimate excuse to tell her old man why she wasn’t working anymore. This job was a nightmare.
Muttering under her breath, Vivian prepared the coffee and carried it into Fairfax’s office. She found him on the phone, his face as dark as a thundercloud, radiating a palpable aura of fury.
Vivian quickly set the coffee down and backed out of the room, terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.
She couldn't help but feel a little sorry for her boss. Between his wife's antics and the Hoggart Group’s corporate assault, he was being squeezed from all sides.
As soon as Vivian was gone, Fairfax’s voice grew tight, his brow furrowed deeply. “She brought a dozen people with her?”
A furious shout erupted from the phone. “You need to get back here and get her out of my sight! I don't want to see her!”
It was Darleen.
Hearing that Starla had moved back into the family mansion sent a fresh wave of pain through Fairfax’s temples. What was she thinking? It wasn't like she’d had a pleasant time there before. If she had to move anywhere, why not back to Luwood Mountain? Why the family estate?
Before Fairfax could respond, Darleen’s voice cut through again. “And let me tell you, Brinley is home from the hospital. She’s still supposed to be resting and recovering from the birth.”
His trip back to the Yelchin estate would have to wait. He turned and headed for the conference room.
...
Back at the Yelchin estate, the scene was one of quiet tension.
Starla had made herself at home on the living room sofa, a book in her hand, exuding the air of a queen surveying her domain. Her casual, unbothered demeanor made Darleen’s blood boil.
Garret stood silently behind her, a watchful guardian. The servants she had brought with her were all from Yoran, their faces unfamiliar and stoic. Two of them were already heading upstairs to prepare her room.
Starla had given them simple instructions: “I want the largest bedroom. And prepare a study for me—the largest one you can find.”
“Yes, ma’am,” they replied with a respectful nod.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
