Darleen sent a maid to find Fairfax, intending to tell him that Brinley was feeling unwell again. But when the maid saw the blood covering Fairfax’s abdomen, she was terrified and ran to report it to Darleen immediately.
Darleen rushed over, with Xenia close behind. The sight of the bloodstains on Fairfax’s shirt nearly made Darleen faint from rage.
“Starla, you bitch! What have you done now?” she shrieked, hurrying to inspect his wound.
“Get out of my room. All of you,” Starla said flatly.
Darleen, Xenia, and Fairfax were stunned into silence.
Hearing such cold words from her drove Darleen over the edge. “You witch! How could you do this to him? He has always taken your side! How could you hurt a man who has protected you so much?”
Seeing her son injured, Darleen was overwhelmed with heartache and lunged at Starla, ready to fight. She had reached her breaking point. She wanted to tear Starla to shreds.
But she had forgotten one thing: Starla had come prepared.
The maids stationed outside the door saw Darleen about to attack and rushed in, swiftly pinning her to the ground.
She was just a step away! Pinned to the floor, Darleen glared at Starla, her eyes filled with fury.
“Let me go! Let me go! Starla!”
Darleen screamed.
From her seat on the chair, Starla watched Darleen with detached calm, observing the woman who wanted to destroy her but was utterly powerless.
Darleen, seeing that unnerving serenity, felt the blood rush to her head. “Fairfax, are you still going to keep her in this family?”
In that moment, Fairfax seemed to find clarity. He was letting go. His heart felt hollow, but even that emptiness was better than continuing this destructive war with her.
Starla blinked. Hearing the word “divorce” from his lips, she paused for a second before a wicked, triumphant smile slowly spread across her face.
This smile was different from her earlier calm expressions. This was the satisfaction of a goal achieved, a look of pure glee. That smile was a dagger to Fairfax’s eyes.
Starla sat back down on the chair, silent, the smirk still playing on her lips.
Fairfax felt the air leave his lungs. “Five billion. Is that enough?”
It was the compensation she had demanded before. She had rejected one billion, insisting on an even split of their marital assets.

Why The ML is Idiot 😂😂😂 i Dont understand,i Think herbert is more suitable to become the ML he is most compose and calm than the ML 😂😂...
"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
