After all, she and Caden had maintained a decent relationship over the years, and he had just shown that, despite being sent by Fairfax, he was still on her side.
"Your brother? Your actual brother?"
"Yes." Starla nodded.
Caden was speechless. It was exactly as he'd suspected. Seeing that photo and connecting it to the devastating blows Yelchin Group had suffered recently, he knew things were far more complicated than Fairfax imagined. And Fairfax was still blaming it all on Herbert...
"The one and only Yardley Hoggart?"
Even though he had already guessed it, the confirmation was still a shock. Who would have thought that Starla, the woman who had endured so much humiliation in the Yelchin household, was the princess of the Hoggart Group? Darleen had always looked down on her background. Now, it made you wonder who was looking down on whom.
"Starla, no wonder you have such a knack for business, with all those studios and biotech companies to your name! Turns out you've got that elite family DNA."
Even before reconnecting with the Hoggart family, her talent had been simmering beneath the surface, hidden from the Yelchins. And why would she have revealed it? Why would you ever let the people who constantly belittled you know what you were truly capable of?
"So what's your plan now?" Caden asked.
From his perspective, if Starla was a Hoggart, she could just go back to Yoran Country and cut ties with the Yelchins completely. Why bother with this whole mess?
Starla looked at him. "Are you that curious?"
Caden froze. Was she actually threatening him now? This confirmed it. Starla's hatred for the Yelchin family ran bone-deep, and it wasn't just about their past mistreatment. This was a hatred so intense that she would destroy anyone who stood in her way.
In a situation like this, who would dare oppose her?
"You shouldn't have told me your connection to the Hoggart family," Caden said, full of regret.
He never should have shown her that damned photo. The family resemblance between her and Yardley was undeniable. Any rational person would have reached the same conclusion he had. Because of that photo, Starla had admitted her identity, but now, the threat against him was real.
Caden's head was spinning. He should have just kept his suspicions to himself.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
