Xenia was unceremoniously escorted out of Farley Group by men Rudolf had summoned. She stood on the sidewalk, dazed, one hand pressed against her bleeding forehead as the cold wind whipped around her. The blood was warm, but all she felt was an icy chill.
Why? The question echoed in her mind. Why would Herbert nearly kill her for Starla, the one who had betrayed him?
With a trembling hand, she pulled out her phone and called her mother, Darleen.
...
As it happened, Darleen wasn't having a much better day. She was at the main Farley residence, where she had been met by Mrs. Farley's personal maid, Maggie.
"Our madam said," Maggie announced coolly, "that if you're here about a marriage between Ms. Yelchin and our young master, you can forget it!"
The message was a direct and brutal rejection from the Farley elders.
Darleen felt the air leave her lungs. "Is that what Mrs. Farley said?"
"Yes," Maggie confirmed.
"Why?" Darleen argued, her voice tight. "The Yelchins and the Farleys are of equal social standing."
"Mrs. Yelchin," Maggie said, her tone polite but pointed, "if I may be so bold, the recent rumors about Ms. Yelchin haven't been very flattering. Before she's even married, she's bullying her sister-in-law at home. If she were to marry into any family, wouldn't she try to take everything for herself?"
"Mrs. Farley doesn't know many things," Darleen snapped. "You shouldn't jump to conclusions."
"Of course," Maggie said with a placid nod. But it was obvious the Farleys had already done their research and knew exactly what had happened. They knew how the Yelchins had treated Starla before, and how Starla was treating them now. Darleen's claims of being wronged were, to Maggie, almost laughable.
"Mrs. Yelchin, you should go home," Maggie said, her voice firm.
"But I have something important to tell Mrs. Farley!" Darleen insisted.
This trip had taken a lot out of her, and she felt weak and dizzy. She had to expose Starla's true face to the entire Farley family. She refused to leave, even if it meant enduring the humiliation of being dismissed by a maid.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
