His chest heaved with suppressed rage. "You're right. I'm the one who married her, and now I'm powerless against her! I'm pathetic! I'm a coward! Is that what you want to hear?" he roared.
Darleen went quiet.
So did Gabriel, who was still in the office.
"I'm the useless fool you all think I am! Are you satisfied now?"
With a final, furious shout, Fairfax hurled his phone against the wall. The loud crash made Gabriel flinch.
Fairfax squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them again, a storm of frustration raging within. He fumbled for another cigarette and lit it, taking a deep drag that consumed half of it in an instant. But even that couldn't quell the fire in his gut.
Gabriel stood by, unsure of what to say. He knew Starla's actions were extreme; in all of Marina City, no man had ever been so thoroughly tormented by a woman. She had blocked every possible avenue, leaving Fairfax with no way out.
...
Meanwhile, back at the Yelchin estate, while Darleen was raging at the heavens, Brinley was in a similar state of desperation. She repeatedly called the Seabrook family driver, but it was useless. He couldn't get the car onto the property.
Frustrated, she called Felix.
"Maybe I should just force my way in?" he suggested.
The idea sent a jolt through Brinley. A moment later, a look of realization crossed her face. "Fine. Break in, get me out of here, and drive me straight out of Marina City."
"Can't you find him yourself?" she asked, her voice edged with desperation. They could take the baby and leave Marina City. As for their plans against the Yelchin Groupโฆ she just couldn't take it anymore.
"If I were to look for him, are you certain the Yelchins wouldn't hunt us down and tear us to pieces?"
If Felix got involved in the child's affairs, it would immediately arouse the family's suspicion. Everything would be exposed, and that would be disastrous for them.
"The Yelchins are like a toothless tiger now. What can they possibly do to us?" Brinley scoffed. She truly wasn't afraid of them anymore. The family had become a massive disappointment.
"A toothless tiger is still a tiger," Felix warned. "They might not be able to handle Herbert, but in front of Fairfax, we are still just ants."

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
