Fairfax's breath caught in his throat at Starla's cold, unyielding tone. "What else are you planning to do?"
"Oh, there's so much I can do now. Haven't you noticed?"
Her casual remark, "there's so much I can do now," sent a shiver down Brinley's spine, making her blood run cold. Yes, Starla was the one who could do anything she wanted in the Yelchin estate now.
Brinley cursed her own panic. Fairfax's fury had terrified her, and her only thought had been to save herself in that moment. She had completely forgotten that the most dangerous person in the entire Yelchin family was, in fact, Starla.
Brinley felt as if she were suffocating. "Fairfax, please, don't say any more," she pleaded, looking at him with wide, pitiful eyes.
For the first time, she wished Fairfax wouldn't defend her. The more he protected her now, the more brutally Starla would make her suffer later. The worst part was, Fairfax was powerless to protect her from Starla. Provoking Starla would do her no good at all.
"Instead of telling him to shut up, why don't you explain things to him properly?" Starla said, her gaze turning icy.
"I..."
Explain? No, she couldn't do that either. Brinley didn't have the courage to tell Fairfax the truth. Was she supposed to admit, 'Yes, what you saw between me and Felix is exactly what it looked like?' No, she couldn't say it.
Brinley took several deep breaths, but the suffocating feeling in her chest wouldn't go away.
"Not talking?" Starla taunted.
Fine. It seemed her recent methods hadn't been harsh enough if Brinley still had the nerve to drag her into this.
"I..."
"Are you still going to force her?" Fairfax demanded, his voice cold as he stared at Starla, his expression screaming, โYou're the one forcing her!โ
The air grew heavy again.
Brinley looked from a furious Fairfax to a chillingly calm Starla, then back to Fairfax. "No, Fairfax, please stop," she begged.
If he kept this up, she was truly done for. She had nowhere else to go. Starla had destroyed the Seabrook family's house.
It had seemed like the actions of a madwoman, but now Brinley saw the method in her madness. Every move Starla made was calculated, systematically cutting off all their escape routes. Without a way out, she was trapped in the Yelchin estate. Darleen, Xenia, and Fairfaxโthey were all trapped here with her, subject to her whims.
Brinley desperately wanted Fairfax to stop talking, but her fear-stricken pleas had the opposite effect, twisting into something else entirely in his eyes.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
