There was no other explanation. Starla had to be rushing this because Kael was coming to Marina City. Or perhaps something had happened with Kael at the Hoggart Group? Her status as a married woman could be a liability for him there.
Yes, that made sense. For a company as massive as Hoggart, and with Kael being a top executive, it would be a scandal if word got out that he was entangled with a married woman. It would tarnish the company’s reputation.
To think she was now going to such lengths for Kael. The same woman who had sworn she would never agree to a divorce was now frantically trying to end their marriage just because he was coming to town. Was she planning to go public with their relationship?
The more he thought about it, the darker his expression became.
“Starla, have you forgotten?” he sneered. “Kael has a family of his own. What good will it do if you’re the only one who gets a divorce?”
Starla just looked at him, her expression unreadable. Still stuck on Kael? His mind was truly one-track. When had his perception of her become so twisted?
No, it was because he believed Brinley. If Brinley said she was tainted, then she must be.
“None of that has anything to do with you,” Starla said dismissively. “Stop wasting your energy on pointless speculation. If you want to bring peace back to the Yelchin family, you’ll sign the papers I brought.”
The kind of peace she was offering was not the kind he imagined. The Yelchin family could never go back to the way it was, just as the two of them could never go back.
Fairfax gritted his teeth again. “Have you even read what you’re asking for? You expect me to sign this garbage?”
He felt like he was losing his mind. On one side was Harley, on the other, Annika. Even the family members not in Marina City were being tormented, all for her signature.
Starla watched his outburst in silence.
So far, she had only targeted the main household, along with Annika and Harley. If that wasn't enough to make Fairfax yield, then it was time to involve the entire clan. After all, when she had first married him, all those aunts and uncles had wasted no time whispering poison about her in Darleen’s ear. They were clearly too idle, with too much time for gossip.
“I’ll make the arrangements immediately,” Garret replied.
“Don’t you dare go too far!” Fairfax exploded. He was furious at the thought of her dragging the entire family into this.
Until now, their conflict had been contained within the walls of their home. But this? Was she trying to air all their dirty laundry in public?
The extended family had been calling for days, asking about the situation, but both he and the prideful Darleen had brushed them off with vague excuses.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
