So why was Fairfax asking the same question now? It had to be because of Starla. She must have said something to him. But how could she know about those things? They had happened long before she and Fairfax even met.
Was she not only tormenting them but also secretly digging into her past? That couldn't be right, either. She had cleaned up all the evidence back then. There was no way for anyone to find out.
“You have,” Fairfax’s voice was flat, a statement, not a question. “How many?”
Darleen felt the air leave her lungs. How many?
“What do you take me for?” she shot back, her voice shaking despite her attempt at indignation. “Do you really think your own mother is some kind of monster?”
She denied it fast, but the guilt in her gut wouldn’t settle.
Fairfax said nothing. He simply stared at her, his eyes growing deeper, more inscrutable. That unnerving silence made her panic even more. Even as his mother, she felt a profound sense of dread under his gaze.
“She must have said something to you, didn’t she? You’ve seen how things are between us. It’s only natural she’d try to turn you against me!” Darleen insisted desperately. “She wants to destroy us, to tear our family apart.”
That damned Starla. She couldn’t know. She was just playing a vicious game, trying to drive a wedge between her and her son. The woman was truly diabolical!
Fairfax remained silent, his gaze unwavering, the darkness in his eyes deepening.
“Fairfax, don’t believe her,” Darleen pleaded.
“Then what did you do to her?” he asked, his voice low. He paused, then cut himself off. “Never mind. I already know everything I need to.”
In her mind, Starla was the source of all this chaos.
“If we let her keep digging, we’re all done for,” Xenia said, her voice trembling.
Their lives were already hard enough. If Starla continued to unravel their past, there was no telling what would become of them.
“You’re right,” Darleen agreed, her fear hardening into resolve. “If she keeps this up, we’ll be finished.”
It wasn’t just about having a hard time anymore. It was about total ruin. Right now, they could still hold onto a sliver of hope that once this storm passed, the Yelchin family would return to its former glory. But if Starla exposed their darkest secrets, all that hope would be extinguished for good.
Little did Darleen and Xenia know, Starla already had all the evidence she needed.

Why The ML is Idiot 😂😂😂 i Dont understand,i Think herbert is more suitable to become the ML he is most compose and calm than the ML 😂😂...
"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
