Inside the private suite, Starla had barely stood up when her phone rang.
She answered it, only to be met with Fairfax's venomous snarl.
"Do you have any brains at all?" he practically roared. "I told you Kael is a married man! Herbert is just trading you to him like a commodity to secure his own deals! He sold you out, and you're helping him count the cash?"
His voice kept climbing, the raw jealousy and fury completely bleeding through his attempt at sounding authoritative.
"Does this have anything to do with you?" Starla asked dryly.
"We aren't divorced yet!"
He spat the words out instinctively.
"Oh, right. We aren't divorced yet, which means you're technically a cuckold. Should we expedite the paperwork?"
She tossed out the word 'divorce' with a breezy indifference. She didn't care about propriety, morals, or optics anymore. The Yelchins had stripped her of her grace, leaving behind nothing but cold apathy.
Fairfax nearly choked on his breath. "Fine! Let's divorce!"
Things had already spiraled to a point of no return. It was inevitable anyway.
"Yelchin Group goes to me. All the family's assets go to me."
"You seem to forget you're the one at fault here!" Fairfax barked.
"No, you were the one who screwed up first. You and your precious sister-in-law—"
"Don't you dare bring her into this!" Fairfax erupted.
