Starla raised an eyebrow, staying quiet this time.
"I shouldn't have said those things," Brinley choked out. "It's all my fault. Please, just save my baby. All I want is to save my baby."
She would memorize every ounce of this humiliation. She would carve it into her bones. She just needed to bide her time. Once she married Felix and helped the Fowler family rise above even the Farley family, she would return every single insult Starla handed her today.
For now, she had to endure.
"Then use your life to save him," Starla repeated, utterly unbothered.
Brinley's head snapped up. "Youโ"
"I take things very literally," Starla cut her off sharply. "You said you wanted to trade your life for his."
Brinley visibly recoiled, a violent tremor shaking her shoulders.
Trade her life for his? That was insane. She couldn't actually do it!
"I... I can't die."
"But you literally just said you would," Starla pointed out. "Those were your words."
Brinley felt the heat of deep shame flush her cheeks. What was happening? She only said it for dramatic effect! Why was this psychotic woman forcing her to act on a throwaway comment?!
"We're talking about a child's life," Starla mused aloud. "If you made the offer, you must know it's a worthy trade. And for a real mother, sacrificing herself for her child is the ultimate honor."
But Brinley clearly wasn't fit to be a mother. She would never actually lay down her life. She was physically incapable of such selflessness.
"No, no, I can't die! My baby is so small... I really can't!"
When that day came, Starla would be nothing. Once the Fowlers were more powerful than the Farleys, she would have her ultimate revenge.
"Just talking?" Starla's voice turned icy. "Your child is on the verge of death, and you're using him to 'just talk'?"
"What do I have to do?!" Brinley screamed, her breaking point finally reached. She couldn't listen to Starla's relentless degradation for another second. Having Starla step on her neck like this was driving her insane.
She didn't even understand why Felix still cared about the kid. She had been completely exposed at the Yelchins, yet Felix insisted the baby had to live. He even promised marriage if the child survived. Under those conditions, Brinley was desperate to keep the boy breathing.
"I already told you," Starla replied, her voice dangerously calm. "Trade your life."
"You...!"
Hearing the absolute, unwavering finality in Starla's voice, a surge of pure, unadulterated fury finally erupted within Brinley.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
