"I don't care whose side she's on. Darian and I are done anyway," Tanya muttered into the phone.
"Even if you're trying to walk away, they're still going to scheme against you," Starla warned.
Tanya let out an exasperated breath. What kind of logic was that? She was practically handing him over, and they still wanted to set her up?
"Remember when I was trying to divorce Fairfax?" Starla continued. "The Yelchin family kept plotting against me, terrified the divorce wouldn't go through smoothly!"
Hearing this, things finally started clicking into place for Tanya.
"So... because they're worried my breakup with Darian won't stick, they're going to try and ruin me first?"
"Exactly. So no matter what you say or do right now, you have to be careful," Starla urged, her tone darkening. "They might literally be coming for your life. Just watch your back."
In Starla's eyes, the Lynn family was cut from the exact same cloth as the Yelchins. They viewed human lives as disposable. If anyone stood in their way or threatened their bottom line, they would eliminate the threat. Just like Darleen and Harley Yelchin had done back in the day.
Tanya's heart skipped a beat. "I get it. That means I need to take care of this pregnancy immediately."
She couldn't afford to wait a single second. Yulisa had shown up at her door this morning to mark her territory and orchestrated that massive setup. It was highly likely Darian had gone home last night and spilled the beans about the baby. And Tanya had already seen exactly what the Lynn family thought of her pregnancy.
"Do you think the Lynns know about the baby?" Starla asked.
"Probably."
"And what's their stance?"
The only difference between them was that Tanya seemed much more ready to let go than Starla had been. Back then, Starla still harbored feelings for Fairfax, and that lingering affection had made her reality unbearably cruel.
Starla murmured an agreement. They shifted the topic to Brinley.
"Did your people find her?" Tanya asked. Brinley was venomous to her core, and Tanya desperately wanted to see karma catch up to her.
Starla inhaled sharply. "No."
"What is Herbert Farley thinking?" Tanya complained. "You finally had Brinley backed into a corner. All he had to do was step aside and let her rot. Why on earth would he help her?"
During her time in Marina City, the one person Starla had trusted above all others was Herbert. With Yardley Hoggart far away in Yoran Country, Herbert had been her only anchor.

"You're a failure as a husband and coward as a Man" This is what i want to say in Fairfax hahaha you dont deserved a wife if you cant protect her...
Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
