A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 834

Just then, Darian's phone buzzed. It was a text from the men tailing Tanya.

*Everything is being handled!*

Handled.

Darian scoffed coldly. She really was going to the hospital to get the abortion. They had barely just separated, and she was already rushing to terminate the pregnancy. Was she really that heartless? Could she not stand to carry his child for even one more minute?

Noticing the thunderous look on Darian's face, Caden sighed. "What now?"

"Nothing. Just thinking about how ruthless she is."

Caden pressed his lips together, deciding not to touch that landmine. People had called Starla ruthless, too. But was she? The Yelchin family had practically tried to destroy her. When she fought back to protect herself, everyone painted her as the villain. So when Darian called Tanya ruthless, Caden knew better than to agree.

...

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Tanya was staring at the receptionist in disbelief.

"You're telling me there are no available appointments for an abortion for an entire month?"

It was absurd. There was no way that many people were suddenly ending their pregnancies in Marina City.

"I apologize, Ms. Mercer. We are entirely booked for the next month. Perhaps you could try another clinic?"

"Butโ€”my pregnancy will be too far along by then. Can't you squeeze me in?"

"I'm really sorry, we can't accommodate it."

"If you don't believe me, then just assume I did it," Darian shot back. "Maybe it's a sign you're meant to keep the child."

"Save the 'meant to be' garbage! Be rational, Darian! Face reality!"

Tanya was practically screaming into the phone. The arrogant jerk couldn't even resolve the conflict with his family or Yulisa, yet he had the audacity to block her from making her own medical decisions?

Darian remained dead silent, letting her rage burn through the line.

His silence only fueled her fury. "Are you taking a page out of Fairfax Yelchin's playbook now? Using dirty tactics to trap me?"

Fairfax Yelchin. Ever since Starla's traumatic divorce, anytime Darian made a heavy-handed move, Tanya instantly compared him to Fairfax's controlling obsession.
